My grandmother use to makes these and give them to me for breakfast occasionally when I was in grade school. One day I went to the school nurse at Fox Chase Elementary School with a stomach ache(back in the early 60s). She asked me what I had for breakfast and I told her a warm Apple Dumpling with homemade vanilla ice cream and a cup of coffee. She couldn't believe it! I made this recipe and it reminded me of my beloved grandmom- Thanks Becky, it brought tears to my old eyes!

My Mama loved Blackberry dumplings and she wanted me to make her some. I had moved in to take care of her. It was off season & I could have gotten frozen berries however, she became worse Jan 2015. I called 911 and she passed June 3, 2015, never being able to come home again. The dumplings were never made and I have carried guilt ever since. I had made strawberry dumplings several times but…..blackberries were her favorite. I’ve been pretty sick this year and haven’t watched all the videos I have enjoyed for for many years. You have always been a blessing to me, sweet Becky. Christ in you! The hope of glory! Much love from Church Hill, TN. ✝️💟💜🙏🏻

Your faith and your conviction make you a great witness. Thank you for that. As a 20 year Civil War reenactor we ate a host of scrabbled together foods in camp. Always brought more than we needed. We were trying to cook off some stuff so we didn't have to pack it out. We had a good amount of Granny Smith Apples and several Vidalia onions. I got my prep crew together and got them chopping. (Artillery crew of about 8 men) They thought I was crazy. We had a big pan with some leftover oil and venison tenderloin bit's, pieces, and juices. The only spices we had were salt and pepper. We sautéed them all nice and added some salt and pepper. Those guys that thought I was crazy said it was the best thing they ate all weekend. Crunchy texture with a sweet and salty combo. I've made it at home and added a spritz of cinnamon. Just wanted to share. Even my wife loved it. Love your channel. Praise God. Jesus Is Lord.

Becky doesn’t sound like anybody I know who lives around Wapak. Rural Ohioans have a twang that Urban Ohioans don’t have, but this isn’t it. My mother-in-law’s family moved from West Virginia to Ohio so they have a slight Appalachian drawl. I wonder if your relatives lived in Appalachia before they moved to the western part of Ohio.

Hey you all, I've used a number of your recipes and have really enjoyed them. I love to cook now that I'm retired. The Lord has given me poems over the years & I thought that sharing one with you would be a way of blessing you back & perhaps help someone on their way. The Love of A King. (Written by Steve Kinkead) Come weary child, let your King reconcile all that's troubled inside of you. Let your heart be at ease, let your mind be at peace for He's calling, He's calling for you. I love you, my child, with a love meek and mild, and I, long to bid you ado. To walk for a while and talk for a while and to settle all that's troubled in you. When the winds of life blow through all that I promised for you and it seems it's all just a dream you once knew, come then my child, let your King reconcile all that's troubled inside of you. When there is no answer for the trouble that you're facing and my peace seems to have fled from you, just come my child, let your King reconcile all that's troubled inside of you, let your heart be at ease, let your mind be at peace for He's calling, He's calling for you. He owns all there is, all created at His command, He has everything, lacks nothing, yet He's calling for you. You're the apple of His eye and the cause of His heart is to bid, to bid you ado. To send you His love on the wings of a dove and to wrap His big arms around you, He'll always be there listening for your prayer and He'll stay till your peace is renewed. Then He'll be by your side as you learn to abide in His Presence knowing that He's calling for you. Yes, come now my child abide for a while for He's calling for you, a place in His court has been saved His Angels aware of it too. They wait to rejoice at the sound of your voice as you call on your King anew. As you answer His call and give Him your all and learn to bid Him ado He'll come to your side there to abide and reconcile all that's troubled in you.

I taught my son to cook and we all are teaching my grandkids to cook. It’s fun but you have to be patient with them or you can make them not like to do it. Just remember it’s fun not just a chore
