For my small wrist I think the Stowa 36 hand wound would be perfect. Your video was a great help in choosing the right size for me. Thank a lot for sharing.

This was really helpful as it is always an issue for new buyers to decide which size is best for them. I like your approach by just getting all of them!

Thanks for the comparison! The entire STOWA line gives off a beautiful, authentic, vintage, and minimal look effortlessly. I have a cream (dial) colored Longines, but wanted more of an enamel white for a casual fit and daily driver. I ended up getting this over the Hamilton despite the 4 week lead time. Thanks again!

Could you please do another video on the Stowa 36mm small seconds, this is the only video I can on it. Thanks.

Thanks! The glossy dials look great at an angle-something that isn't really captured in many other photos/videos.

Would you consider reviewing the Stowa 36mm small seconds ? I think you'd be the only one reviewing it, I 'm considering it as my next watch, would highly appreciate it.

I have the Hamilton Navy Pioneer with the large sweep second hand. The one you show has two peculiarities that I don't care fore, one is the small second hand dial makes the seconds markers on the large circumference not necessary. The second compromise is the arabic "3" is smaller than the other numbers, another work-around. I do like and am currently wearing my own marine Hamilton with a NATO strap, very fine, but could not abide with those two features on the one you show.

I went with the chronograph version of the Hamilton for my Marine watch (I like how it has a two subdial setup like the real things, despite having different functionality for those dials). Having seen a couple of Stowas in real life, I think the case on the Hamilton puts it above them and other marine chronometer style watches. The chapter ring is also closer to the "sunken" recessed dials of the original Marine Chronometers and adds to Hamilton looking more like "real" Marine Chronometers than the rest. I am also not aware of any other brands in the more affordable price bands who historically made marine chronometers and are still around - other than Sewills (now owned by Timefactors and doesn't produce any models regularly or at any scale to be easily available). If you like enamel/enamel style dials on marine watches, you might also be interested in the Seiko Enamel Presage watches. They aren't technically marine chronometers but are pretty close in style. As nice as the "enamel style" dials from good brands like Stowa are, the real thing is in on a different level: real baked enamel dials are something to behold.

I am also growing an interest in marine style watches such as the Union Glashutte range, Glashutte Original Senator Observer and D.Dornbluth and Son watches. All German watch brands.

Can anyone comment if the silver dial on the Stowa will tarnish over time? Thanks for the video.

Which do you like the best and why? You need a dornbluth, GO and dekla to finish off the marine watches.

Hi, on the Stowa, do you prefer the silver dial or the white painted dial ?

Which would you say is the starkest WHITE dial of these ?

I love the Stowa marine original, but at 41mm and 50.2mm lug to lug I'm afraid it'll be too big for my 17cm (6.75 inch) wrist.

Thanks for the nice review. I am seriously considering the 36mm small seconds while really appreciate the unitas movement on the 41mm ... will the 41mm looks bulky on wrist? Do you recommend the 36mm small seconds versus the 41mm ?

The 41mm is huge. Almost 50 with the lugs

Looking into getting a marine watch, so very much enjoyed the video 👍🏻 I’m also trying to decide what level of watch to get for my marine piece, and wondered if you’d checked out the Dornbluth and Sohn 99.1 (and if vs the Stowa Marine Original is worth the price jump)?

Wish the minute hand on the larger Stowa was thicker like their smaller dials. That minute hand is sooooo thin. Like string.

Hi there, I got the Hamilton Navy about 3 weeks ago and it is an awesome looking watch..the only issue I see is that it takes a lot of crown turns for it to start runing, more than I'm used with my other Hamiltons. Is this normal for this sub second movement?
@artieshell92052 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard this a lot. So just be normal.

This truly isn’t a criticism but I f you’re going to collect something you should pronounce the brand name correctly. The “w” in Stowa is pretty much pronounced as a “v”.
