Land Cruiser is the Australian mans dream. We get paid so well you can have your cake and eat it too. Additionally, a Land Cruiser is necessary for going remote, as they are the most reliable and modifiable for those off road adventures. I’ve got one and I’m a 25 year old nurse. Own my own house and enjoy my weekends at places like straddie, Fraser and Moreton. We’re just blessed to be honest. Don’t have to pay for things like healthcare and basic social capital. Well, I guess through our taxes, but we all have to pay taxes ;)

My old neighbour Norm was born on Straddie in the 1920's. He rode horses up and down the beaches in those days. He helped build the original Point Lookout Surf Life Saving clubhouse. He lived across the road from the clubhouse. He moved to Brisbane later in life due to requiring access to health amenities where he was my neighbour for 11 years.

You are 100% correct about driving a beat up car. You buy a 4 or 5 year old car and drive it for the next 10 to 15 years. You get the most value you can out of them. Enjoy OZ a lot of people come here and end up coming back to live. Less stress that busy cities in other Countries. As you seen Brisbane as a city is even laid back.
