You just gotta love a good 7 speed disc! Haven’t tried the Evader, but I own a Gold Explorer, S-line and two C-line FDs, an Instinct and also a Bear (I know it is an 8 speed, but I find it quite unique, and as you said, good for a flip up forehand), I love all those discs (and others around that speed), so useful in woods, and still often goes so far!

In my bag I’ve got an S-Line FD which is more understable, a purple C-Line FD which is reportedly the most stable FD along with a Forge Instinct. They cover the straight-to-controlled fade fairway driver slots very well. I choose between them according to elevation, hole shape and wind conditions. When I need anything more stable than those I’ve got the FD1 and FD3 but then we’re talking a different class of discs…

I like this comparison across several different companies. I've gone to more of a mixed bag lately. Also my new c line FD does not flip up. I can hammer on it to about 340 and it's just dead straight with slight fade

I love the new c-line FD it flies nice and straight and just has the right amount of stability for a reliable fade for me. I bag the explorer too whenever I want to forehand or something with more fade but I haven't tried the ricky explorer.

C line FD is the straightest disc I've ever thrown for my arm speed. I haven't played with any s line or lighter weight but the 173g are money for straight and shot shaping upto 90m

I agree. I didn’t like the dome on it at first, but now that I’m used to it in the hand it flies really really nice! Probably one of the most useful fairways I’ve thrown!

As a "up and coming" disc golf youtuber myself (haha), I enjoyed the format in which you did the video. I appreciate the one cut voiceover you did on your clips, but I feel it may have been a good idea to lay back on the zooming at times. I found that this made my eyes hurt a little. You had valuable insight on each disc as well as some information on the runs of each disc which helped my understanding of the disc. Overall a great video and look forward to seeing more of this!

I bag many of the Explorer discs,lol. From the Recycled(Biofuzion) plastic to the Opto X Chameleon you easily have all the stabilities covered. I really like the Gold X, it's overstable but has phenomenal glide, similar to the Hybrid plastic if not just a touch more stable. Great review again!

Hey wanted to ask, since you seem to like keen on the Explorer. I have an Explorer in opto, but don't really like this mold in the opto plastic, however I do like the stability. I was wondering how Explorer in the Recycled (BioFuzion) plastic compare to an opto one. Both feel, flight, stability and after getting beaten in, and how long it takes to beat in. Hope you can help. :)

@@frederikvoerts I would say Recycled is less stable straight out of the box, not a huge amount tho. It has beat in fairly slowly and after 2 months it's just a smidge less stable. I hope it gets less and less stable over time. I really like the Gold X plastic for the nice stable maybe slightly overstable flight. I can throw it hard and flat and it will just go dead straight for 300ft and then have a small fade. The Recycled with the same shot would turn some and come back at the very end, probably end up dead straight where the Gold X would finish on the hyzer side a tad more. If your throwing 400ft Gold X would be just dead straight

@@prattacaster Thanks a bunch for your insight. I think I'll get the Recycled soon then, and will deifnitly be looking out for the Gold X in the future, they are just hard to come by atm. Might get a Gold instead of Recycled. However in my experience the Recycled seems to hold up better and beat in slower than my Gold discs. But the Gold X explorer sounds interesting for sure.

I have been trying to fill the strait with a good reliable fade spot in my bag too! I have the same FD you have out of the mystery box and I have an instinct on the way. I also picked up a birdie disc golf supply strike to try as well. So I guess if the strike is not what I am hoping for then I may have to try the evader. Great info in this video yet again man keep up the great content.

My buddy has a yellow Bear, from what I can tell it is more stable than this Blue one. I have found blue metallic clear plastics from Lat64 to be a tick less stable fwiw. Super workable/reliable mold.

Nice green screen ;) I have 2 slots for those in my bag as well. I use a teebird and a Evader. I also sometimes bag a stag for those long sweeping shots where I need a driver to turn to the right the whole flight. Good videos. I hope the wife and kids are doing well.

Hey i found your channel recently and have been loving it! Though i have to say the zoom-ins on the face cam are a little distracting, personally i would use them less, and/or replace some of them with "jump cut zooms". Also the music is a little loud personally, but maybe that's just me. Anyways great stuff man keep it up :) just some tips i thought could be helpful

Except these are not straight fairway discs outside of the FD, they are overstable fairway's. If the flight numbers end in x/x/0/2 or > 2 they are not considered straight, you understand that, right? That's why the Evader and Explorer fade so hard. If you look at a stock Evader it states what it is right on the disc; "Overstable Fairway Driver".

The bear was definitely more stable than an essence. I've been seeing in these comments that the blue is the most understable bear. But the essence is another level of understability. Depending on the arm speed the essence would be a hyzer flip up and turn out disc or maybe someone who maxes at 350ft could throw the essence like the bear was thrown in the video.
