What if I'm flexible enough that I can bend all the way to the floor without a bend in my knee? How far should I go?

Hi @therestlessknitter4290, Thanks for watching the video! It's great to hear that you're working on your flexibility. When performing a straight leg deadlift, the goal is to maintain good form to engage the right muscles effectively while protecting your back and hamstrings. Even if you have exceptional flexibility, it's important to avoid rounding your back, as this could put unnecessary strain on your spine. Instead of focusing on how far you can go, aim to hinge at the hips with a neutral spine. Stop when you feel a good stretch in your hamstrings, even if that’s well before you reach the floor. Listening to your body and focusing on controlled movement will help you get the most out of the exercise. If you're unsure, consulting with a movement specialist or trainer can help fine-tune your form. All the best with your training! Dr. Brian Abelson, DC
