+LivingAsTasha After the first couple of seasons w/Connor (8&9, w/a couple references later), I imagine they wanted to distance that narrative so that Simpson was a more remote figure, character-wise, than in previous years (that is, his being Connor's godfather would bring him a little too much into the kids' lives, rather than keeping him as "the principle"). Even his conversation w/Clare was more of a meta-narrative nod to saying goodbye to Aislynn b/c she had been on the show for 9 seasons (2 guest, 2 support, 5 as an "anchor" character), rather than being anything personal to the character, as such.

The season where Fimagen happened was one of my favs! Annie's character was such a big growing character. I hated Fiona at first but then I grew to love her character as she grew to becoming herself.

+Nathalie Alicea Fiona might be my favourite character from the entire series. I feel as though she's one of the few characters who, despite being given some not too great storylines (her robbery plot in s12 was pretty sloppily handled in my opinion), always remained true to her character. You get some characters whose behaviour becomes so inconsistent, and changes whenever it's convenient for the writers, but no matter what Fiona did, it always seemed to make sense for her. I also like how she ended the show with a bit of a throwback to how she was when she made her debut - pursuing a career in fashion in Europe, but having learned some lessons along the way, and becoming a kinder, stronger person. And Annie Clark just seems like a bucket of sunshine and sweetness. :)
