Poverty has seen a 1% increase though in the last 4 years because of the inflation. But that is allot better than the rest of the world. EU has seen 3% increase in poverty post pandemic. Some African and Asian countries has seen close to 10% increase in poverty after the pandemic. So poverty could be allot worse in USA today than it is. After all sense the 1980's we live in a global market where US has less and less influence on the economy over all. So when wars and natural disasters hit other markets it also effects the US market. It's only though US military interference around the world we have manage to retain some control of the domestic economy.
