I bought my first bike when I was 18. It was a 400 something thingie, biggest bike at that time which would be a scooter by today’s bikes. Until now, thank you Jesus, that was my first hurt on a bike and I hope it is my last. Over the last 50 years I have seen a lot of bad wrecks and lost a few friends. I’ve done some stupid stuff on bikes like my last bike, the road liner- 100 plus popped up on my speedometer a time or two or three. When I am sitting in my recliner and arm chair riding I think I must be crazy but when we mount up all that goes away and I am 18 again and it’s the greatest feeling in the world. Hey that would make a good commercial, 66 to 18 with a swing of a leg. Not ready to give it up,so thank you to all the well wishes and support. Love you guys-Brad has the best friends-subscribers ever.

We love you, too, Charly. You're an inspiration to a lot of us to keep on trying, whatever that trying may be. Hummingbird feeders, flower beds, burning brush, petting hens and even revving up a bike. God Bless, dear lady.

She does much better than I would! About 40 years ago I was riding a trail bike about 30 MPH when I ran out of gas, reached down to turn on the reserve and squeezed the front brake! Yep, laid the bike down at 30 MPH and got a case of road rash on my left arm! But, live and learn!

BCtruck, I wondered if Mrs. BCtruck could reach the levers okay. That was hard to watch her go down, it could’ve been a lot worse. Good thing it was at home on the grass. I like the look of the new levers. Our Honda Dealership had a flat black Fury. I was with my friend who dropped his Shadow off to be worked on. I was looking at the Fury, the Salesman told me sit on it. It was perfect but my arms were stretched out and the levers felt too far. I am going to checkout the new Honda Rebel 1100 when it comes to Canada.

So glad Charlie is mending....I noticed how you sped up to get to her when she went down.....touched my heart. Those new levers are great - seems like they are a good addition (with the adjustability factor) for any bike that may have multiple riders - would it be practicable to put on your bike as well? At any rate, I'm glad you're good at customizing both of your bikes for your individual needs. You both take care! 🥰🤗

Thanks! I’ve ordered something that will move the handle bars closer to her. Between that and the new levers, it should make for a shorter reach.

Glad she is OK. A few years ago, I took my new VTX1300R over to a friend’s house, and as I was leaving, my front tire hit some loose gravel, and down I went, with my friend and his wife watching. It happens. I’ve been hauled to the hospital a couple of times. If you ride enough, it’s bound to happen.

Never mind pride, IS C OKAY?? Golly! Would it help to find-buy/bend handlebars that give her a shorter reach? I know falling/crashing is a horrible scary feeling, believe me, I know. I have to be careful to not hook my sleeve over my joystick...my "bike" has taken off and driven me into countertops several times cuz my sleeve drags my joystick forward. Thank the Father youre okay, C.

She is fine now. I ordered some handle bar risers that move her bars up and back a couple inches. I think those will make a huge difference. If that doesn’t work, I’ll have some custom bars made.

Yep. My only times dumping the bike were stopped at stop lights. Once, I got my shoelace hung up on the peg and could lower my foot to the ground. Another time , I was so high, I forgot to put my feet down at a stop light.(It was the 70’s) another time I stopped sideways on a hill that was so steep that my leg wouldn’t reach the ground.

How long has she been riding? I’ve only been riding a year and I have did the same thing last week and my clutch leaver is bent. Any tips on bending it back?
@bctruck Жыл бұрын
Slip a pipe over the clutch lever and bend it back. If it didn’t break when it bent the first time, it likely won’t break under a controlled bending situation. Plus , clutch levers a cheap and very easy to replace if it does break.
