One of the finest....No, the finest act NZ has ever produced. Such a shame Brough and Shayne Carter clashed. If only they could see the synergy between Shayne's angst and Andrew's beautiful melodies. Fuck - America and the rest of the world would have spooned them up like honey. Just imagine (if possible) another album released somewhere near the quality of Melt. Sigh. An absolutely brilliant band. I loved living in Auckland in the 80s and 90s and was lucky enough to see these guys play in so many different venues, pubs and stadiums.Awesome to see my old local surfing spot used in the filming. Big shout out to bfm for their input of the NZ music scene during this period.

They should have been a lot more widely known than they were. Not in a top 40 way, they just should have been better known in their time instead of being a cult band for us oldies to show the young uns. Fucking great band, thanks NZOZ, another nugget of gold.

MELT be my favorite album of the 90's. It's one of the all-time guitar albums for me, up with The Stone Roses, and Marquee Moon by Television. It breaks my heart that they are so over-looked, and that they imploded. Between the horrible demise of The Doublehappys, and the Fits disbanding, Shayne has never become the recognized genius he should be. Dimmer is great, but MELT is the tits.

Bill James I think there are a lot better albums than melt in the 90's tbf. Even though it had some amazing moments on it. Straitjacket fits are one of my favourite bands but they didn't really nail a whole album imo. Still, the highs were fucking epic though. Personally, dimmer had a better output in my view

Yea, great band, - pre and post Brough. They could make you feel like your flying with huge choruses. KJezza's right too. Still, the Church are still kicking goals. You fans might like Sloan and db's, too. I live in Oz near Geelong. Brough's Bike clips on You tube are great, too. and yea you can hear a Radiohead type passion tin the music.
