I mean hello- takes you nigh on 20 years to appreciate a classic?And not just SJF. I mean my vinyl collection includes plenty of stuff that's on fairly high turnaround on "Classic" hit radio now but you would never have heard peep from back when it was first released because Commercial radio just wasn't interested in it.

Straitjacket Fits were one of the best bands to come from the Flying Nun label, some years ago I asked Michael Gudinski why they didn't get a bigger push in Australia. Apparently Shane Carter was difficult to deal with, and promoters outside New Zealand wouldn't put up with his demands.

I kept looking over like...maybe i should go over there. I was dumb. Hatebreed sucked.

I'd barely call myself a fan, but I was there at this Hatebreed performance and it really left an impression on me. I don't expect hardcore from that error to be everyone's cup of tea, but as far as performances go Hatebreed were phenomenal on this day. This band is also amazing and make you realise NZ has created some pretty cool stuff over the decades.
