I never quite got the whole flying nun thing but this song even from day 1, was like one of the most beautiful songs nz ever produced. Even now in 2024 it's unsurpassed and still contemporary.

The sentiment behind this beautiful song is sorrow and loss. Yet it’s beauty transcended this for my wonderful bride and I as we danced slowly to it as our wedding “waltz”, over 17 years ago. Thank you Andrew ❤️🥺

I get a real Chris Bell-era Big Star vibe from this song, in mood and in style, and I would not be surprised if Andrew Brough had Big Star LPs in his vinyl collection. In fact, I feel that the history, temperaments, and group dynamics of Straitjacket Fits also loosely mirror those of Big Star- both groups had solid, highly acclaimed first and second albums, followed by a more “controversial” third release release after the other songwriter left the group. Both groups had a palpable creative tension that marked their most memorable work, with the introverts (Chris Bell and Andrew Brough) squared off against the more dominating, extroverted partners (Alex Chilton and Shayne Carter). Lastly, both Bell and Brough each died relatively young (although at ages that varied in relation to the timeline of each group).

One of my all time favourites, unbelievable that when these guys were hot, alot of the underground worlds' new music alt scene knew more of them than NZ, I remember watching an American reviewer talking about this great Guitar band from little old NZ!? and he played "She Speeds", and I'd never heard it until then, so of course the mish was to find more of their music,

I will hold your music and the memory of the shows SF played at Metropolis in Brisbane (in the early 90s) forever. Imagine if an average high school band like Oasis had had the talent to come up with something like this, NME and all the other UK magazines would have declared it one of the best songs of the 90s and one of the greatest Bitpop songs ever in the decades later.
