I got an excellent tip from another vid. Stone and Wood are medium thermal integrity, while sticks are low. So, I build the floor, outside walls and roof of stone or wood, but the inside walls are sticks with doorways. This allows the heating/cooling to flow much more consistently throughout the entire large structure. I'm really enjoying your vids; thanks much. When you get that glitch where you can't see part of the roof, go to the Housing menu and select roof. The roof that's actually there will snap into view and remain there when you exit the menu. It's not an Early Access thing, as it still happens in the release version. So they sorta fixed it...partially.

Hi, thanks again for a great video. I read somewhere that for a different outcome when you restart let the in-game clock roll over an hour each time before resending the balloon.... i.e. 13h, 14h, 15h etc Never tried this myself but people reported that it does create a different outcome. Don't forget Rita has the "Natural curiosity" buff on expeditions which is amazing at filling in missing discoveries. I am so looking forward to your next playthrough. Thank you.

I've been enjoying your vids so far. Keep them coming. I would have thought that the wood fence used the same box collision as a pole fence and it wouldn't work but you had a good idea that worked. 👍 Most of your electronics come from scavanging and very little from salvaging so once you research spaceship deconstruction you can have Ken start scavanging then the electronics will start rolling in.

Click on different roofs to remove them from view. Fuel ferm is a really good breakthrough, it will come back round. Salvage research will make electronics a more common find as you said.

I'll try clicking another roof and see if that helps, thank you! We'll definitely need fuel ferm again even if it is just for the balloon, and I'm glad to hear salvage research will improve our chances for electronics - hopefully in the next video 🤞

The reason you can't see the roof is that you probably clicked it, it's a function in the game. A tip for defending against those flying bugs is to build a roof, yes just a roof, and have your settlers stand under it. Build flooring there too, or they will get that cave dverler debuff.

As you love being near water, you should add the fishing dock mod to your games, not op or anything but a nice use of the water.

The dashes symbolize the expirationtime for that quest. As you can see in the infobox for that quest below the traveltime. Although your little house looks nice... build a bigger house... out of wood . I always make sure that I can expand it for some extra bedrooms. Make the bedrooms 4x5 to get the +18 buf. Like to buils a crafting/tailoring corner with a storage rack and a cupboard. Make sure you have a storagerack near the bedrooms on which you store bandages/antibiotics/medkits. Skip the fridge go for freezers. Maybe later a fridgeroom near your cookingstation made of concrete or carbon and 2 AC's. Fuelfermentation is big. You need fuel for synthetic armor if you don't get the chitin synthetics breakthrough.

I haven't thought of that before, mostly because I'm so new as a channel, but I'd love to do something like that in the future when I feel more comfortable with the community. I have had a few people go out of their way to make me feel like I don't belong (as a girl) but overall the interactions have been overwhelmingly positive so thank you so much for that! 💕

@@dddweller All content creators regardless of sex or background are given grief from trolls. Just learn to decipher the constructive criticism and ignore the trolls. You will be great.

@@wyattderp9719 recognizing and acknowledging them is deciphering the nonconstructive from the constructive. there are trolls for every content creator, but that doesn't dimmish the fact that some of them are still being sexist... and when someone says "name your base cute desperate blondie paradise" you know they wouldn't make the same comment for a man (I've seen the word creep abused in comments but even "handsome desperate creeps fortress" is less likely to be written than the dumb blonde or 'desperate/attention seeking female' trope) 🤷 or saying that my alien dawn seeds thumbnail is clickbait, despite the whole 24 minutes and 23 seconds being about alien dawn seeds, the only other thing on the thumbnail was my face so draw what conclusions you want from that. These comments are a drop in the ocean and while it was harsh for that 'clickbait girl face' comment to have been the first I received (and it was paired with a link to Stranded's discord and the commenter telling potential viewers not to watch my video that I was attention seeking and to go to the discord instead for seeds) I've realized its the exception, not the rule 💕 It's not unheard of that girl gamers are accused of attention seeking simply for posting or streaming, (even on the very first video, like mine was) and that is more than enough evidence of the imbalance in harassment for female creators comparative to men in the niche so please do not be dismissive when a female content creator points out the additional harassment they experience simply for showing their face or revealing their voice in their content. Having an audience to drown out the trolls (sexist and not sexist alike) helps though, and you've been a big part of making the difference here, so thank you!

I know that this has touched a nerve with you and that is ok. You are building a community and as such you can decide who gets to participate in that community. You can ban from comments anyone who is toxic or doesn't fit the vibe you are going for. You are doing great and have great potential, don't let the negative voices stop you.

You sent Vivien on an Explore expedition, not the crashed rescue pod. You could have kept the breakthrough and then started the rescue pod expediton

dang, that would have so nice! I might have lost it again during a restart to try at different hours until I achieved the desired result (a new survivor). But it would have been nice to have the cake and eat it too, for sure!

I wonder why crossbows and not normal bows? So far I always been doing normal bows and they are pretty hurtfull with the bleed loss the mobs experience. About housing i'm always overdoing it, make Workhut of 7 on 9 with 3 a 4 of each craft station, homing building 13 on 16 with each a room of 4 on 5 for max happiness, next work house a dinner of 9 on 8 and behind a fridge room of 9 on 7 and final the stockroom 15 on 15 floor with roof but no walls. all placed in middle and around them all the farming grounds. I manage to build this all before winter starts but mostly my survivors end in losing their clothing round winter time.

Great observation! I think I started with crossbows because they hit harder in another game I had played previously and I brought that mindset into this game with me when I started playing it, but looking at the side by side comparison I do like the normal bows better because they have a longer range. I think I have the opposite habit and tend to build more conservatively 😅 I do enjoy the challenge of trying to make everything fit in a close knit space, but its just as fun to spread out and try to build something larger and more impressive! I love seeing how different players do it, its so much fun to explore all the options!

Don't waste your time on freezers just make a 4x5 room out of stone or wood carbon is the best then put 2 AC units in that room set to the lowest temperature, than you got your self a perfect walk in freezer for the rest of the game.

I’ve tried this before with stone but couldn’t maintain below 40 temperature, might have built the room too large though, it was most likely double the dimensions you gave. I could try again 😊

4x5 is as large as i would go, any bigger than that and it might not work. it honestly really does work thats one of the first things i try to get done then my food is good the rest of the playthrough.

I put four AC units, and turn off two them incase of breakdowns
