I love how you depict what we Argentinains call "the deep Argentina" (la Argentina profunda); the remote, isolated parts of the country away from the main cities. And also the way you show how kind people are everywhere you go in the country.

I know that Patti is the love of your life and that you take good care of her. I have noticed that when you strap her to the harness, the strap seems a bit short. It pulls the harness quite a lot when Patti is laying down on the seat. I think that she would be more comfortable if the strap was a little longer, so the harness doesn't shafe on her "arm pits" if you know what I mean. This is not a critique against you, just a suggestion to make her rides a little more comfy.

Keep a can of carburettor cleaner, if engine stop and won't start, remove spark plug and spray some into the engine, if it starts, you got fuel problems.

I bet the fuel line going to the carb is getting hot and boiling the gas in the carb essentially vapor locking. The car sits it starts and runs fine. After getting hot again ur back to flooding issue.

Safe travels! I always have to mention the amazing humans you come across your travels. Keep traveling and giving us legends that amazing content!
@huskytrax38384 ай бұрын
Hey Legend. Might be a good idea to check your fuel system. Running in those countries there is a big chance of low quality and contaminated fuel. It seemed the engine was starving for fuel which means it could be several faults; contamination in the fuel tank covering the fuel pick up, restricted fuel filter, fuel tank vacuum because the tank isn't venting (but let it sit for a while and no vacuum is present similar to Tori's problem), a blocked screen where the fuel enters the carby after the fuel filter (not sure if Tori has one), contamination/water in the carby bowl or a fuel line that is failing. So rip the fuel tank off and check for contamination, if the tank has a breather make sure it isn't blocked (it may vent through the fuel cap like a motorbike), change the fuel filter (be good idea to cut the old one open to see how contaminated it is), check the condition of each fuel hose, ask the Tuk Tuk dealer in Bolivia if there is a carby inlet mesh screen and clean it if it has one, remove the carby bowl and check for contamination and clean if necessary. If the carby bowl is full of contamination you may need to strip the carby and clean it. Don't doubt yourself, this is all pretty straight forward and I can see you have the ability to handle it! Don't let a break down stress you out bud, that's when the adventure really starts and humanity will take care of the problem and you! Buen viaje Blue! Your Aussie mate in Asuncion.

Those countries? Big chance of low quality/contaminated fuel? I think you are stereotyping. I have never had fuel problems in my life in Argentina, nor in the southern countries I have traveled through.

Wouldn't the black spark plugs be more an indication of running too rich, rather than bad fuel?

11:43 In a city grid, a "manzana" is a square bounded by a street on each side. So the "manzana historica" is a manzana which so happens to have historic buildings. It is not an actual Big Apple, that'd be funny though :D

Get some sandpaper or wire brush and clean up the spark plugs you pulled out because you can reuse them if you need ?
@khorix514 ай бұрын
Hey mate. Keep those old spark plugs and hit em with the steel brush to clean em up so you can use them as spares later. As long as they still fire when connected to the plug there’s nothing wrong with em. Just a bit dirty. They will just get dirty on their own but if they get dirty quickly it could be because of shit fuel, or a bad fuel to air mix. Not a mechanic but I’ve fixed more lawnmowers than I ever intended to in my life.
@YotaguyJosh4 ай бұрын
Those black spark plugs mean you’re running rich. Might consider running some fuel system cleaner or a little bit of toulene through a tank.

Hey guys in the comments, IDNK what do you think about our countries, but it's not like we are 3000 BC with leaded fuel, fuel is high quality, we have Shell stations for example if you don't trust local gas stations. There have been a really a low ammount of cases where owners of gas stations used to trick with lower quality fuel but it's really illegal and those ppl will get arrested fast. One thing that happens more often is that YOU are not allowed to fuel your own vehicle like you do in your country, a guy who works for the gas station does it, and that means that there is a really chance of error like
@King_of_the_End4 ай бұрын
Sounds like it could either be a fuel issue or an ignition issue. So it could be either bad fuel or water in the fuel system or maybe a bad coil that loses its ability to send current to the spark plug when it gets hot
@ginamunro94914 ай бұрын
The mechanics are pretty simple, finding parts not so much, maybe. Glad it was just plugs. Keep the old ones and scrape the crud off in case you need them later. ❤

those plugs look too black id be cleaning or replacing the airfilter too. also why were you turning a screw on the carb in an earlier video you may have made it run too rich causing it to flood. not sure if your elevation has changed massively from where it was tuned but you may need a different size main jet.
