Hey all, My old microphone died so I had to get a new one & upgraded but I'm not quite used to it yet so this video is a bit "punchier" than usual! Nothing too bad but working on it and will be fixed in the next video. I hope that you're all having a nice build up to Christmas, it's getting pretty busy for me now so the next two videos will likely be the yearly hour long compilation videos and then next year I'm wanting to get back into making some of the more documentary-styled videos that I used to do & haven't done in awhile. So, this will include disappearances, (somewhat) related topics and others. So let me know if you want to add a topic to my list! Be safe all!

I heard about this one case where a family reported their kid missing after driving to the beach. Turned out the dad had killed the kid the day before and the beach trip was done to misdirect the police. So when a kid disappears within 10 minutes of getting to the mountains, I really think they ought to check the families back yard for any recent holes...

I grew up in Sumter, SC where I hunted and fished on the Santee River and the connected swamp called Sparkleberry. People get lost periodically. Some are found, some are not. I have friends that have been in hunt clubs their entire lives. They claim to have seen black panthers. We had Lizard Man sightings that made the news worldwide. Shaw AFB is near there and they operate Manchester Bombing Range. Sometime around the mid 80’s I went deer hunting with my little brother named Eric and his buddy Artie. We were in Manchester maybe 5 miles from Shaw. Eric and Artie went one and I went another. The sun goes down very fast because all the land slopes down from from the ridges to the river. Even in a car cutting through the swamp at 60 mph, it takes 15 minutes to cut across at the Sumter / Columbia line. It was a weird day in that I didn’t see any small game or even any birds. Around sundown, I started back to the car. Then somebody started yelling and hollering really loud. I could tell it was a grown man and both Eric and Artie were just kids. But regardless I took off double time up a hill on a game trail. As I got near the yelling, I came up to an old wire fence covered in honeysuckle where the trail went through an opening. I had to bend way down to get through the opening. The yelling was continuing the whole time but the instant I got through the opening, the yelling stopped dead. All in one motion, I stood up and jerked my head sideways. I was only about 20 feet or so from the person yelling their damn head off but I couldn’t see anybody. I was standing on an old logging road with someone right next to me that was invisible to me. They could see me. They stopped yelling. I even spoke up asking who they were and why I couldn’t see them. I had a Marlin 30-30 in my hands, fully loaded. I cocked the hammer back and had it aimed toward where the yelling was coming from. It was the only time in my life where I was armed and scared shitless. I even said if anything moved I was going to cut loose. I can’t remember how long I stood there but it was getting dark fast. I walked backwards to the fence opening and then had to bend back down to get on the trail. I’ve been in some scary situations but never anything like that. I made my way back to the car where Eric and Artie were waiting. Eric asked me why I was doing all that yelling. I looked at him and said it wasn’t me. That was about 35 or 40 years ago and even now when we talk on the phone, that day always comes up. He always says the same thing, “you should’ve seen the look on your face.” I’ve thought about that day many times. I will retell the story if I’m around friends but still don’t have any answers as to what happened. All I know is that there was at least one man that had an ability to see not be seen. Then I found David Paulides and the 411 series. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.

As someone who is from the region, I can tell you that if you go to Yosemite, you won't question how easy it is for someone to just vanish. You can walk up on a bear and wouldn't know it until it's too late. And trust me, big ones are out there. I've seen them, they've gone through my camp and even tore apart a small car with someone inside for a candy bar. There's tons and tons of steep granite and forest so thick you can lose someone right next to you and some good rapids in parts of the rivers. Extra credit for pronouncing Nevada and Stanislaus National Forest correctly. Didn't quite get Tuolumne though, but that's a tough one. Too-all-uh-me

@jasonnelms4556
@jasonnelms4556 2 жыл бұрын
@Jon Crane though I agree, I didn't say it was bears. It was an analogy to describe that it's so dense in some places that it's possible to walk up one and not know until it's too late or vice-versa, they can walk into your camp and you not see it until they are there, which I experienced twice in Yosemite. So you can quite easily lose the person mext to you in seconds. Just like you could be walking along some rocks or dense brush and find yourself an old, overgrown and half buried entrance to a mineshaft to call home and wouldn't even realize what's happened before hitting the ground, possibly bouncing around on the way down. It's possible for a Mountain Lion to drag heavy prey into some interesting places easy to miss. We can go with hiking along and walk into an illegal pot farm that are around and some guards take off with you to a whole other region making sure the body isn't found anywhere near them. Fall off steep cliffs that are abundant and land wedged in some crevice high up that'll never be found. The missing 411 story where the baby disappears and found high up on a cliff, not saying this is what happened or true but the hypothesis that an eagle swooped down and grabbed them is completely possible, them birds are bigger than shit and can lift a load. Fall off a waterfall getting washed away miles downstream and get caught in a flash flood making the location of a found body not make sense. Or pinned under some rocks and downpour of the waterfall or the bottom of a small lake up there. Maybe just kidnapped, there are some creeps that roam around. All just analogies/possibilities of things that could happen. It's rough country up there and if not careful, life will change quick.

So I'm from Visalia, about 2 to 3 hours away from Yosemite. Last year I worked at a hotel in town and we were housing a large In n Out training team from Arizona, as there were two new locations that opened up. One day all the In n Out kids decided they wanted to head down to Pismo Beach, about 2 and a half hours away, total opposite direction of Yosemite. The reason I say this is, only one guy had decided to take a solo trip to Yosemite. Now this kid is from Arizona and has zero experience hiking and absolutely was not prepared. I come in the next day and everyone is freaking out, he hadn't come back from his trip, his phone was dead and everyone else was back and getting ready for work. We had his managers number, we even investigated his room to make sure this wasn't gonna be a crime scene. Now note this is also right after the large wildfire that swept through three rivers and the sequoias. We had to wait until we hit 24 hours to report him missing. Eventually this guy shows up in the late afternoon with his Uncles and father who'd driven all the way from Arizona. I don't know how they found him but here's what he tells me. He had gone on a hike, didn't get to Yosemite until about 2, and the hike was 4 hours up and back. He didn't take into account his battery life or the fact that he'd loose daylight faster behind mountain ridges. So his phone dies, this dude didn't bring a flashlight, so he tries to find his way back to his car down the mountain with almost no visibility, he nearly stumbles into a bear...RUNS FOR SOME REASON and hides under a tree until the sun comes up......do not go hiking in Yosemite if you don't know wtf you're doing.

According to Google: The name Yosemite itself is from the Indian word “uzumate,” which meant grizzly bear. The Indian tribe that lived in the Valley were called Yosemites by Caucasians and by other Indian tribes because they lived in a place where grizzly bears were common and they were reportedly skilled at killing the bears.

Pretty sure Walter was just... kidnapped. Being male doesn't exclude you from being picked up at the side of the road and disappeared. I could very easily see it being a situation where he knew he wouldn't be able to walk back in the dark, someone offered to drive him back to wherever he was staying in the park, and then just drove off with him. Just because he was on the side of the road, or just because he got into a car, doesn't mean he meant to leave.

These ppl who disappear in the woods that end up being found days later somehow being able to survive impossible freezing temps while wearing thin clothing, they have mostly been abducted for several days & placed back in a place where they can easily be found. The reason why they have no memory is because their short term memory has been wiped either by psychological trauma, power of suggestion or by some electronic means that places the subject into a docile stupor. It could be done by the military as there is an eerie coincidence that there are military bases always nearby where many ppl disappear or it could be done by UFO abductions for unknown purposes.

Yes, not to seem like a total "looney" (which is EXACTLY what the U.S. & Canadian governments WANT you to think about those who have FIRST hand experiences with CRYPTIDS). But, at the expense of the "stigma" attached to these beliefs, It IS TIME for both governments to admit that some (as yet), UNclassified but VERY well known creatures inhabit these parks. (They have even been PROVEN to exist through a very intense, expensive, professional 5-year long Sasquatch Genome Project).The fear of these governmental entities is the legal factors. They are damned if they DO admit their existence = lawsuits, anger, and a MASSIVE loss of income from park fees & permits. They are damned if they DON'T admit it which = huge sums of TIME/& MONEY & risking the lives of searchers (when they KNOW that (possibly), this could be the work of a Cryptid encounter. For those that DO enjoy the back country & hiking alone, just know that you may encounter something so strange/mind altering & UNbelievable, that you may toss aside your backpack 🎒 and start running for your life!! This will do you NO good (and neither will having a high caliber firearm (which might also be illegal in certain parks). In fact having a hiking partner and a camera might serve you better. I know that these unfortunate lost souls should have had SOME type of warning prior to taking their adventure(s).

No ! Have you ever seen an Owl hunting a mouse.. it closes its wings, drops like a stone, then opens its wings like a parachute just before the strike, in complete silence... now scale that up 20 times and you have a bird that stands 8 feet on the ground, with a wingspan all of 30 feet and humans have become the mice ! People never cry out cos they’re unconscious straight away but sometimes they will wake up in the Thunderbirds nest where they attempt to call for help, but this is futile people on the ground can’t tell where the noise is coming from so they assume the person is stuck in another Dimension. These birds are expert at not getting seen, it can all be worked out from above.. so that’s why it’s always the last man in line or the hiker behind the one in front ! Now Lucy you get a clear Idea just how dangerous the parks are. Just like Owls these huge birds have magnified vision and can spot their prey from 1000s of feet in the air, although usually they will sit in trees and pounce ! People are easy prey cos they ain’t got eyes in the back of their heads ! Now you know hope you don’t have nightmares...

In some states, it is forbidden to bring a firearm or weapon of any kind into a state or national park. Even if you could be armed, the problem is you have to go to sleep eventually. Kids can be surprisingly resilient. I've seen kids suffer falls that would have left an adult limping if not with a broken limb. Kid just pops back up like nothing happened. Youth does has some advantages. What is frustrating about these tales of kids who are found is how thin the explanations are. Kid never yelled for help? That was always my first instinct if I was in a situation I knew adult assistance was needed. No explanation how he kept warm, where did he sleep, etc.

Always a pleasure to hear your voice & I love the accent. 😁 I wonder if they ever check for footprints. When they found the backpack did they notice more than one footprint? You always check for footprints, human and/or animal. Scat, if it's fresh, nearby & who or what did it. These can tell you a lot, plus if there is trampled foliage, broken branches, blood droppings, etc. When looking for somone, especially in the mountains, you have to put all of the skills of the native americans, CSI agents, a local mountain guide & a bloodhound. Adam, have you ever thought of taking state by state & doing disappearances for each one? Each state has it's stories, but I was thinking of stories not well known. Or maybe try a little something different. For me, anything you can dig up on Louisiana, especially central & the southern areas would be great. I'm just an ole cajun lady with time on my hands & a thirst for knowledge of any kind. 😁😁😁🙋‍♀️😊🇺🇲

You would think the national park would atleast put up some trail cams or something especially in the red or hot areas where numerous people have come up missing at?? I mean it’s trivial on how or where they go, but could easily be figured out, if they would atleast try to put some type of surveillance in these back country areas!! Anyhow love the content!! People don’t realize how crowded Yosemite can actually get. There are a lot of people in the Valley on any given day, so it wouldn’t surprise me if some of those people have evil intentions.
