The dropped item side quest was definitely my favorite. You can call them out once everyday to trade a pokemon, basically they will offer 12 pokemons that couldn't be obtained by other ways rather than transfer.

I think the sidequest about the Pansage who wants to be a railroad conductor may have been a reference to a true story about a baboon who had been trained to fully operate a small railroad station on his own in real life. I don't recall all the exact details of the story, but it started when a certain conductor who single-handedly operated a small railroad station had been injured or something and was having trouble moving about to do his work, and so he had bought a baboon and trained it to help him with his everyday tasks and rewarded it with whisky. Eventually, the baboon became so efficient in running the station that it didn't even require supervision anymore, and the conductor could even leave his post to run an errand and not have to worry about a thing because the baboon had the routine memorized so well that it could take care of everything by itself whenever a train came in!

I remember the Yancy and Curtis sidequest..... if at the very least because it got me a Spiritomb that proved extremely helpful in acquiring multiple legendary pokemon in the game.

Really awesome! The Curtis one I had no idea about. The Master Trainer one doesn’t really feel like a strange or hidden side quest compared to the others though, considering also those games including sword and shield had hardly any content compared to BW2

Me too, I always watch TV in the game so much. One more thing, if you watch the TVs in the Unova anywhere you may see you traded your Pokemon on Yancy/Kurtis, It will said "A very dear friend gave it to me".

In the manga Blake (Nate) does date Yancy but breaks up with her because he wanted to figure out if she was apart of team plasma or not

Pansages dream might be a reference to Jack, a baboon who became a signalman in South Africa. In 1881 Jack was purchased to aid double amputee James Wide. Jack was taught to push Mr Wides wheelchair and operate signals under supervision. After inspection, the railway officially hired Jack whereupon he earned 20c a day and a half bottle of beer a week. He served flawlessly fir 9 years until his death in 1890. It wouldn't be unique for Jack to be referenced in popular media, Jack in Pirates of the Caribbean is himself a reference.

The Curtis/Yancy side quest was one of my favorite parts of B2W2! It's optional and lots of people miss it, but it's a fun little thing that warms my heart when I replay B2W2.

Another 2 of the master trainers are named after the game grumps.after ur champion in HG/SS u can go back to Elm's lab & see Silver trying to return the starter he stole & apologize,which Elm will accept his apology & let him keep the starter

Wasn’t the original Shuckle side quest a part of Gen 2? I don’t remember if you get to keep the shuckle based on happiness but it did originate there. Also, there is the Spearow from those games as well that a guy gives you to send mail to a friend of his. The Spearow I remember doesn’t even need to be given to the from as long as the mail it’s holding is given to another Pokémon, either way you lose the Pokémon in delivering the mail.
