So the last comment in this video, something else to consider. Jesus isn't just saying he is a concept. Due to English not being like Greek at all a better translation of the term that we just translate as I am in the Gospel of John (almost every instance of Jesus saying "I Am" in John) should be "I was, I currently am, and I always will be.. the way the truth and the life" . This is due to the tense the word is in. Also it is the Greek version of the the same term the burning bush uses with Moses when Moses ask the burning bush who is he to say sent him to free Israelites from Pharaoh, the bush replies "I Am"... As for the marriage thing. One big argument against Jesus being married is the theological thought that yes Jesus is married but his bride is The Church. The church in the NT is referred to the Bride of Christ. In the Revelation of John it actually refers to the return of Christ as the wedding of the Lamb to his bride. Rev. 19:7 for example. Also I really don't see these as things people try to ignore, just things that maybe take time to discuss. Also can be quite heated if people don't remain calm.
@dwayneconaway17336 ай бұрын
I agree so hard at least and as far as Jesus telling people if they don't eat of his flesh and drink his own blood they cannot be partakers in his Kingdom is both a reference to his death, and it was also to get the people who were only looking for more food off of his back. The first time he said this was after the feeding of the 5000 the people had followed him across the See a gallery I believe and wanted to make him a king but it was only because he fed them miraculously, so he said unless you eat of my flesh and drink my blood you cannot take part in my Kingdom.
@MelindaSmith-y6g5 ай бұрын
Jesus is referred to as the word so if you eat his flesh and drink his blood you are simply reading and studying the New Testament. You know, like at multiple other places in the Bible a prophet is told to eat a scroll. It’s not literal. I don’t think they literally ate those scrolls. They read them and studied them.

Fun facts: The pigs: The town that was scared of Jesus, where Jesus sent the demons in the pigs and the pigs then ran into the water was a town, the major town, that produced sacrifices for a false God via the pigs……so basically those pigs were a major part of the economic system in that town. So Jesus Christ showed those people via healing the man of demons & then the pigs running into water; that he was way more powerful than the false God or idol, that the town worshipped and made money from. -The figs Jesus Christ telling the fig tree to dry up and be no more is said to be a reference to the original sin in the Garden of Eden b)c… after Adam & Eve sinned & ate the from the forbidden tree, they then noticed they were naked for 1st time & dressed themselves in Fig Leaves & when they spoke to the lord after this he asked who told you that you were naked,& why did you cover yourself l: fig leave’s clothes are a sign of Humanity’s 1st sin and separation from God (Jesus was upset at the people making the temple sinful, sin itself, ect -and it also showed Jesus had power over a lot more than human, he also had power unheard of at the time over the land, ect……

So much about the Christian faith is mis-translated and can be taken many different ways. My concern is that I believe in God, but not much else when it comes to religion. Christians tell me that I should call to Jesus and believe in him as the savior when most other faiths only view him as a powerful profit and NOT the son of God. What Mary really a virgin? I've heard of translations that say the word used to describe her as a virgin could also translate to "young woman". Christians seem to be the only faith that says Hell is forever. Most others say that you can get out once you've served your punishment for bad deeds. I don't know what to believe. None of it makes sense, and if I only believe in God and live a fairly decent life, helping others as much as I can I will still burn forever.

There are over (150) of these anomalies if you re-read the canonical Greek gospels very very carefully - here’s just a very small sample - in ‘Matthew’ & ‘Mark’ (whoever they were…) ‘Iesous’ curses a fig tree for not bearing fruit out of season but in Luke’s version, it is not an act of cursing but rather a parable about a gardener cursing a tree for not bearing fruit when he happened to be hungry … - in the synoptic gospels (‘Matthew, Mark & Luke, whoever they were) ‘Iesous’ does not carry the crossbeam on the road to Golgoltha - but a bystander ‘one Shimeon of Cyrene coming to the Feast from the Diaspora, was compelled by the Kittim to carry the crossbeam in his place’ - but in the 4th canonical Greek gospel (‘according to Yohanon the Elder’ whoever he was) it says ‘and Iesous carried the cross by himself on his own [Gk. seauton]… - Christian children are often told that ‘Jeezuss’ was 33 1/3 years old when he died following ‘Luke’ (‘Now Iesous when he started his ministry was about thirty years old’) but John’s gospel says (‘46 years was this temple in the rebuilding & you will burn it down to the ground and replace it in 3-days without using hands of men?’ then adds : ‘NB ‘but he was speaking of the temple of his BODY’ suggesting that Jesus was 48 years old at his death [Around the year 160 CE Bishop Iranaeus of Lyons said that he had been a teenage disciple of the 70-year old Polycarp of Smyrna who himself when he was 14-years old became a disciple of the 90-year old John the Elder’ who stated that Jesus was 48 years old when he was executed and that he encoded the fact in his gospel (in a marginalium found in John 2:21) - if Jesus was 48 years old during his arrest for armed sedition in 36 CE ‘during THE Insurrection’ (at the 100th anniversary of the Roman occupation of Judaea which began in 63 BCE with the invasion of Pompey) that would place the date of his birth around 13/12 BCE which coincided (9th to the 14th of September) with the appearance of Halley’s Comet in Matthew’s birth narrative (‘the star moving from east to west in the sky before finally blinking out over Bethlehem) which is referred to in Luke as ‘in that day you shall see the sign of the BarEnasha in the heavens streaking across the face of the sky from east to west like sheet-lightning’ - maybe like Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) he was born during the appearance of Halley’s Comet (and Twain was told he’d die when it came back 76 years later - and he did !) which was also seen as the sign of a messianic deliverer from Roman occupation as it had done in 164 BCE when the high priest Matathiah Ben Hashmon and his five sons (‘the hammers’) led the revolt against the gentile occupiers (back then it was the SyroGreeks who controlled Judaea) and for 100 years Judaea had semi independence from foreign occupation (that is, until Rome took it over in 63 BCE) - this would make phrases like ‘the times of the gentiles are over; repent and believe the good news of the coming kingdom for these are the Days of Vengeance of our god !’ with other hints like the road to Emmaeus pericope in Luke 23 (‘and they said, Oh yes, we really did believe that he was going to be the one who would deliver Yisroel from foreign occupiers’ - so 13/12 BCE was a ‘messianic year’ for ‘Jesus’ to be born heralded by a Macabbean like star of deliverance in the sky … I could keep going on for hours but these few tidbits are enough for most beginners or newbies to the material to chew on ! There is. Reason for confusion and "contradictions" is that you miss some information to get the whole picture . For example if we take the most confusing testament , the old one compilers multiple times refer to future events before they happened so for example tree of knowledge of good and evil is name dropped right away even though it has no name yet because Adam named everything which is not directly mentioned but it is directly mentioned that human(Adam. The specific use of the man used on Adam refers to both female and male like word mankind does not refer to just men) named another human that God created in front of him life(Eve). There is no actual contradictions there. Its just you missing something and not understanding what is going one. There is sometimes language barrier but its nothing major for example like angels appeared is not actually correct. They showed up, like came up. They never appeared but other than that it has no contradictions.

The Gospel of Mark began life as the script of a play ... the story line of which was altered and expanded into what we have today. This original text was constructed of 51 word "paragraphs". The added text can be identified. The voice that spoke to Jesus after he was baptised by John was meant to be understood as that of his deceased father. The Greek word used that is translated as "am" (well-pleased) actually means "was ... and still am" (well-pleased). The language used by the author who altered the text was noticeably less sophisticated than that of the original author ... and he did not grasp some of the subtleties of this original author's script. Whoever this original author was he meant his play to be performed before a very sophisticated audience. The Greek word "magdalen" was the name given to the damp inner part of a loaf of bread which was used to clean the hands at the meal table ... and then was thrown to the dogs under the table. Where it says that Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law I am of the opinion that it originally said that he healed his OWN mother-in-law. Peter was a character added by the author who altered the text. If Jesus was not married he would not have been allowed to speak in synagogues (so a Jewish source informed me).

In regards to the cursing of the fig tree: the fact that it started to leave, & yet, no figs on the tree meant something was wrong with the tree, & the fruit would have been bad, when it would come to sprout. There probably was a Galilean craftsmen, who loved his religion and scriptures, who believed he had a special mission during a time the Jews were begging their God for a Messiah. His real story was probably a lot more mundane than the Gospel writers portrayed it. I don't believe for a second that Pontius Pilate struggled with himself over his guilt or innocence. He gave him the Judas the Galilean treatment as he did many others before and after him. However, the Gospel writers had to tell a story that would connect with Greek-speaking peoples in the Eastern Mediterranean, lest they draw inspiration from the Messianic Jews and decide to spread the Jewish revolt to other parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, further disrupting the Pax Romana. They created a Savior god, not too unlike other mythological figures the Greeks believed in. They made him friendly to Rome and agreeable to paying taxes to the Romans. They had him rise from the dead after washing away the sins of the people with his blood. Religion is a key element in bringing about the civilization of a people, to move them from their more primitive and barbaric origins to where they would serve the agendas of very powerful people. It gets expensive in terms of blood and treasure to send armies out to the farther reaches of an empire, so using religion to pacify people should make the job a little easier. But like most other political agendas, there are unintended consequences. I don't think Christianity was supposed to survive beyond the first couple of hundred of years.
@BillGreenAZ6 ай бұрын
That's a great take on the situation. I hadn't heard that before. I'm not saying it didn't happen like that but even if it isn't entirely true that the Romans deliberately did this, what does seem to be true is that people in the region were looking for a solution to their poor situation and would readily accept someone who made peace with their oppressors the Romans.

Eating of His body was part of Jesus' claim of Him being the passover lamb, the new covenant. After the Isrealites slaid a lamb to use the blood on their homes for the angel of death to PASSOVER them, they were also commanded to eat the rest of that lamb, the old covenant. Not to be taken literally, just as we are not literally buried and risen from physical death in baptism.
