I can understand why Atlantis wasn't popular. It came out in the wrong time when Disney got stuck and Pixar started to make their iconic movies, it went against multiple big movies like Harry Potter and it was the company's first adventure movie. The biggest reason is silll the... weird storytelling. The characters were memorable, the worldbuilding was interesting, the animation was beatiful, I liked the mature themes, it had _so much_ potencial, but it felt like it was missing something. I think the incoherent plot holes has something to do with this ( it's mostly about the characters making silly choices to push the action forward easier ). I wish more people would give it a second chance and I hope Disney can fix this problems in their adv. movies. Strange world seems like a good idea.

Super excited to see this film as it gives me "Journey to the Center of the Earth", Atlantis and the Pulp Serial Action Sci-Fi vibes which Don Hall did confirmed the latter as his inspiration. On top of that, it's also Walt Disney Animation Studios' first Science-Fiction film in a while considering that the last Sci-Fi animated films were _Atlantis: The Lost Empire,_ _Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet,_ and _Meet the Robinsons_ the latter of which was released almost 15 years ago, so I do hope we get more Sci-Fi animated films from Walt Disney Animation Studios. Finally, what I'm also excited is that this film has a leading male protagonist and it's a breath of fresh air to have a Disney animated film with a leading male protagonist since for the most part in the last 10-13 years it's mostly the female protagonist as the leading character and occasionally in some of the animated films the male protagonist is either the deuteragonist (Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert, Nick Wilde, Maui) or a tritagonist (Kristoff in Frozen). The *ONLY* Disney animated films to have a male protagonist for the past decade were _Wreck-It Ralph/Ralph Breaks the Internet_ (Ralph) and _Big Hero 6_ (Hiro).

I'm seeing it, too. When Frozen came out, I was saddened to see how stiff the characters' expressions seemed in contrast to the designers' original lively sketches. At most it could only be every other year, their (non-musical animated year, since they alternate between musicals and non, but also, you want science fiction from WDAS? There's a Disney+ show coming from them, they anncouned it in December 2020, it was the last project they mentioned so it will come after everything else most likely, so probably 2024/2025. After Tiana (next year) and Moana (maybe 2023?). From the description it sounded like that Count of Monte Cristo anime set in the future or something but with an African setting.

1:20 Well, those giant pink worm thingies do seem to be based on Hallucigenia, an ancient ancestor of the velvet worms that lived way before the dinosaurs, tho Hallucigenia did look incredibly alien despite being an actual animal that once lived on our planet.
@deciradoxytp17712 жыл бұрын
They do it because it’s within our understanding. If life could exist on other planets, regardless of each’s conditions, the same laws that apply to Earth’s life would also do so for theirs’. Also, convergent evolution exists.
@poisonedyoyo2 жыл бұрын
You guys need to read a book called The Exchange Student by Kate Gilmore. It is about these aliens who come to Earth to take off with our animal secies DNA and take them to their planet before 500 years prior on their lanet they had wiped out all the animals that lived there. But they have some recroded footage from then to see some of the animals that are lost. (The Earth stuff is set in 2096 and the last sider monkey dies.)

Guys LISTEN, WAlt Disney Animation Studios follows a PATTERN and has been doing so since Tangled came out (igorned Winnie the Pooh for this discussion please, maybe this only applies to CGI animation, in which you could start this at Bolt and ignore Princess and the Frog ALSO), WDAS releases a musical then a movie that is NOT A MUJSICAL then a movie that is a muiscal, then a non, then a musical. It's okay if you haven't noticed this pattern before, whatever, but it is super annoying to praise a movie for not being a musical when the WDAS film following Encanto WOULDN'T have songs in it. If it does have a song it'll be like Zootopia or Wreck-It Ralph did it.

So honestly Meet the Robinsons and Chicken Little were made when WDAS didn't know how to work CGI animation, they got their buds at Pixar to help with Bolt, and then Tangled blended CGI with cel animation, and for Wreck-It Ralph they knew what they were doing.

I can't wait to see this movie this Fall. It is nice to see something different for a change instead of a live-action movie from an old-animated one like Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin or Pinocchio which takes away the magic from when they first came out.
