@@akaNemsko It's too bad the Truth or Drink video got made private cause pretty much every one of you all said they wouldn't date a chess player (Dina didn't take part so she doesn't count) - although - I don't know if Wirtual counts or not for Anna..... (I do like Alex saying if she wanted to date a chess player she'd choose one of the guys from her past....)

@@nawelgarcia1917 if a stranger came up to you and acted exactly like this guy except they asked you for money, to use your phone, or whatever else. You and most others would rightfully call them an asshole. Some one you don’t know politely saying no is not permission to treat them with less courtesy than anyone else regardless of the social situation.

@BradJames878 5 ай бұрын
If you get a 'no,' then you already screwed up from the start. I would never ask unless I was fairly sure I would get a 'yes." And the way I know that is she has to give some indication that she is interested...ie, flirt, touch me, etc. In this video, the girl was there to play chess, and it showed. The guy screwed up by asking for a date.

That's a good question. Asking out isn't cringe. The repeated pushing after she politely said "no" was cringe. You like chess. Asking out pretty girls is the same as playing against a GM. In chess: Sure you can go with the cheesy Bishop and Queen checkmate attempt on move 3. But if Magnus politely avoids getting mated by you, you cannot get upset. In dating: Sure you can go and ask out a super hot and intelligent girl like Nemo as a complete stranger in a bar during a live stream but don't get upset if she says no. And don't try to keep forcing the issue. It's sad and embarrassing.

I am an older guy, and watching the younger guys screw up makes me cringe. DON'T PURSUE. DON'T give a woman the time of day until she gives some indication that she wants to go out with you. If you ask her out blindly, you have given her power, and women have too much power already. I feel bad for the girl in this video because she is trying to be polite instead of telling the guy to take a flying leap. And to top it all off, the guy tried to cheat by illegally moving his queen. This guy should be ashamed of himself.

@BradJames878
@BradJames878 5 ай бұрын
@@danielbaggins7341if no women ever give an indication that she might be interested, then possibly you need to take steps to become a better catch yourself. Maybe cosmetic surgery, work out, better clothes, hygiene, etc. And hang out with guy friends. Women find men more attractive when they have guy friends, as opposed to being a loner. But never come across as needy, like the guy in this video did. Women are more attracted to men who act like they have other things going on in their lives more important than they are. And be honest and ask yourself if you are only going after the gorgeous models. Both sexes are guilty of this: they may get attention from a 6 or 7 as opposed to a 10, and they won't even consider that person, even though they might still be a great catch.

If he was super hot and in her extremely high standards/preferences, her interaction would have been different. "He's so cute! I got butterflies!" This interaction was harmless and happens every day by guys who see an attractive girl and want to shoot their shot. There is never a perfect time to talk to a girl. Never a perfect word combination. The chances of 2 people meeting are at astronomical odds. The chances of him ever meeting her again are even worse odds. Looks like all men need to be as close to perfect as possible to approach women. Ladies, the top 20% of men are dating ALL of you at the same time in a carousel. You want a great man? Check your friend zone. Plenty of great men that would be awesome human beings to you are hidden in plain site. To this dude. You did awesome. Took a lot of guts to ask her out. If a stranger came up to you, asked you for money, to use your phone, give them a ride, or whatever else. You tell them no but then they continue to ask and then ask for a reason why. Then they twist your arm to get you to wager it on a game. you and most others would rightfully call them an asshole. This situation is no different. Aside from the multiple “no’s”, anyone with two brain cells would know that the four women that go to a weekly chess club to be hit on by the hundreds of men that also go. They go to play chess. Lastly, if you learn anything from this video, trying to pressure a woman you met five minutes ago to go on a date, doesn’t work. @@dagensdom656 That's fine, but him pursuing in and of itself is not creepy. Firstly, this wasn't a normal interaction where you're just walking by someone and asking them out, they were both in a setting that encourages conversation and a more intimate interaction (intimate as in deeper than surface level interactions like a "hi how are you"). Secondly, this isn't just any person. She's a very attractive, intelligent, talented woman that you don't just see every day. This could have been a once in a lifetime opportunity to find an actually worthwhile partner in a sea full of inadequate options. His attempts weren't rude, nor objectifying, nor were they forceful. So why is he being demonized for simply putting his best foot forward? You don't just give up on someone like that. Doesn't mean you harass them, but he doesn't do that at all. The second he loses the second match, he gracefully exits. I don't understand why politely pursuing a woman, which is what our society has deemed as the proper way of garnering a Woman's affections, (and make no mistake, the way he went about this WAS polite) is now so demonized or wrong.

@@chrishosey7535 It is totally fine to try your chance and despite what you may think everybody agree on that, you miss the point. Just don't insist or ask why you are being rejected. Simple. Why ? Because the first answer won't change just because you insist. Not knowing this much makes you self centered and a not very perceptive person, so learn to read the room, and instant give up after a no. And if you ask why being dicarded, you will maybe force a polite lie ... in both cases you lose even more points. "You don't just give up on someone like that." In fact you do.

@@neitt4493 This is a very unrealistic view on dating. It is very common for an initial rejection to turn into a long term relationship. So your assertion that the answer won't change, especially in this context where they're actively conversating, is just false. It's not like I'm suggesting harassment. And although you did hint at this not being the case, asking a woman why you were rejected gives the pursuer at least some closure as well as a roadmap for future interactions. Obviously she doesn't owe him an explanation, but he also doesn't owe her a quick exit to avoid any more awkward interactions.

@@chrishosey7535 you obviously hadn't realise how cringey you were when you did the same thing as that guy. The fact that you even consider that "respectful" is telling that you don't understand what it meant by respecting the other person, no matter guy or girl.

And I don't know why asking a girl out is cringe. Will girls are taking up the job of asking out guys? No, right? Still, I think after the first NO, he shouldn't have insisted. In conclusion, both need to Grow up!

I disagree. Girls will always give you no as a first response and will be disappointed you didn't try harder. They always say no to not look desperate and then change their mind shortly after.
