Nemo actually has a very sketchy history in chess as well. It is a decently well known in the chess community that it is highly likely that Nemo achieved her WGM chess title by going to closed round robin tournaments in Europe and paying strong players to have a prearranged draw or win for Nemo. There is quite a bit of analysis online which anyone can read for themselves, but it seems extremely likely that her title was obtained through illegitimate measures.

This is pretty common in chess and has been for a long time. I'm not saying it isn't sketchy, I'm just saying that Nemo is not extraordinarily sketchy by doing this.

She also bought her FM and FGM titles in chess. She went to private tournaments IN Europe, paid high elo players to draw or lose the match and then gained the norms. As soon as she left these tournaments, her elo dropped by nearly 150 elo in a year.

@@MusicPlaylistsChannel There was a huge uproar with Mishra Abhimanyu, who broke the record for youngest Grandmaster by doing the same strategy. Only difference: He is clearly at that level, he just should have not gotten it that fast, but later. He gained over 110 elo in less than 3 months doing that. Meanwhile she [Nemo] is not at her titles' level and her elo dropped to 2330 one year afterwards. A literal 120+ elo drop in a few months of play. She should and would have never gotten these titles. There is a great NYT article titled "The dark side of Chess" that explains everything. And great statistics to show how popular this strategy has gotten: Nepomniachtchi (World #3) had to beat opponents whose elo average was 2512 to reach GM. Multiple strong Grandmasters and strong International Masters. This was in 2007. 2500+ elo is Grandmaster. Meanwhile Abimanyu's opponents had an average elo of 2390. This was in 2021. This is FIDE Master level (2300+). Not even International Master (2400), let alone Grandmaster (2500).

The story here isn’t the morality of the activity, as immoral as it was (both for this woman and her coach). The real story is the stupidity of both of them to not foresee the backlash. This situation should definitely cause them both of them $10s of thousands of dollars of lost income (much more than the cost of the seat)! The coach should be fired from his company. A poker coaching company should want to distance themselves from anything akin to theft or immoral behavior. For this woman, her audience probably largely consists of simps who throw money at her and probably won’t be affected…”pretty girl” privilege.

It's unbelievable how she rigged this giveaway, as her long time viewer I did not expect she would ever do this... what was the point of the whole giveaway if the winner was known even before the start? just give it to your bf Thallo and don't try to farm views and comments, also I think it's worth to mention her first response which was totally different from the final apologetic one and it made the whole thing even worse for her.

Thanks for summarizing the story Alex. I was seeing all the Tweets about this, but didn't know the full backstory. Ya pretty shady to deceive your fans, thinking there is a "contest" going on, when there isn't one. Already so many shady things that have happened in poker, so being a well known person that is new to poker; this doesn't leave a great impression on the type of ethics she has.

She has been a scammer since she started playing chess. Even her chess title is very suspicious. Allegedly, her parents create tournaments to artificially increase her rating. Also, the giveaway winner is a poker player; guess what? Her boyfriend. Thallo is the owner of the KZbin poker promotion page. The Ecgab is, in fact, Thallo’s own KZbin poker promotion channel. The correct winner is "Thallo".

The only thing I’ll say about the comments thing is that sometimes comments get automatically deleted by KZbin. Jean Francois is a loyal commenter of mine and for some reason his comments were being deleted before I could see them. He sent me screenshots to verify and we came to the conclusion that KZbin was deleting the comments because they thought he was spamming. Unsure why their bot was flagging him.

I now have seen many of these pretty young ladies play great chess e.g., Anna Cramling, Botez sisters, et al, but Nemo is the only one I dislike. Once I saw this youngster play her for her number b/c he liked her. I get it, she wasn't into him - no problema, but once the guy lost she started saying how she didn't want the guy's number and embarrassing & humiliating him for no reason just to be mean! Another time I saw her bullying this guy along with some of her friends like some kids do in middle school. She's one of those that is attractive on the outside but rotten in the inside. She's not a nice person that's for sure!

A ton of hypocritical behavior from viewers around here, and most were exacerbated by the owner of this channel, great job mate. The actions of her do not constitute a scam, they are not proper for a person with good intentions yet labeling it a scam is a stretch and a hypocritical and vindictive way of disclosing such behavior. The owner of this channel is no better than Nemsko or whatever her pseudonym is, just for the mere fact of increasing the severity of her actions. When someone (ANYONE) needs to increase the severity of the actions committed by the person being critique, that someone has either ulterior motives running in the background (which is not a good sign) or is a total hypocrite, and all of these in correlation to the actions of Nemsko, makes the owner of this channel as harmful as her or worst depending on the situation. This notion applies to everyone. "A scam is a fraudulent scheme designed to deceive individuals or groups FOR FINANCIAL GAIN"
@aralbrec
@aralbrec 28 күн бұрын
I'm going to help you out. The "giveaway" was a way to promote herself, her channel and her reputation which hopefully translates into more views and more MONEY. Otherwise why do you think she would do a "giveaway" without actually giving away anything. If she just wanted to give that seat to her bf, she could have done that without any fanfare. But you see, the fanfare benefits her and hence we have the lie. Now she did correct that, when caught, by holding a real giveaway. But her postings on the subject indicate she is either not remorseful or doesn't understand the lie she told was immoral and ethical. It raises questions about what sort of things she has done in the past and what she will do in the future when personal gain is on the line. In other words, poor character just like the many who post here who can't understand the problem.
@eddygiron2390
@eddygiron2390 28 күн бұрын
@@aralbrec Everything you typed is totally accurate and understandable, logical except the fact that you totally ignored what I typed in my initial comment; yes, what she did was unethical and immoral YET IT CAN'T CONSTITUTE A SCAM. I even typed the meaning of scam for everyone to see that the person behind this channel is also aggravating the problem even more than it's necessary, if you can't SEE THAT, then you're a hypocrite just like I described beforehand. Plus, one can obviously watch how the owner of this channel is elongating his argument by repeating the same point but with different words and different angles of criticism, in order to make her fault even more complex and meaningful, very sneaky insidious tactic from such an unblemished individual, don't you think? If it's really a scam, then she has to be prosecuted by law, there are no exceptions according to your laws. So you tell me since you seem very entitled just like others who have been around here before us.
