Stranger in Moscow reached #4 in the UK Top 40, which means it ranked higher than the singles Rock With You, Off the Wall, The Girl is Mine, Wanna Be Startin' Something, Thriller, P.Y.T, Another Part Of Me, Smooth Criminal, In the Closet, Who Is It, Jam, Will You Be There, and others.

That's almost unbelievable! Not that this song isn't class, but how on earth did those other singles not get any higher?! People in the UK clearly have no taste in music 🤣

The story behind this song goes something like he was facing child abuse allegations at the time. That's when they first came out and he was in Moscow at the time. He felt awful. That's when he wrote this song. He felt like a stranger in Moscow. Lyrics like "swift and sudden fall from grace" indicates that he's fallen from his grace and dignity because of the false allegations. "Here abandoned in my fame", "KGB was doggin me",

This song was the first song I see of MJ after the news of his death, and this song was played a lot more than others. I never knew why, maybe cos the media finally realised they killed him and the lyrics express that. Whatever it was, it's still a great song but unfortunately I always now link it to his death.

You get a chance watch behind the scene. Michale actually wasn't walking on sidewalk. Michale was on a treadmill with green screen behind him. Water was done by Sprinklers.

I bought the single of this song when it was released and there was some really great dance versions of it......of course I was clubbing back in the 90's so the dance version was right down my alley LOL

This is an amazing song ❤❤❤ Very emotional! I believe Michael wrote it while he was in Moscow and was feeling very isolated in his fame and alone... it is a very meaningful song ❤️

He wrote this song in response to the allegations, he was in his hotel room feeling lonely while thousands of fans shouting his name outside the building.

Thank you Dave for your reaction to one of the greatest masterpieces of all times, Michael wrote stranger in Moscow after first false allegation in 93 which was the blue print for all other false allegations after that ,Michael was in Moscow when he wrote this song ,he put his heart out there with this song, the little boy who talks in Russian on the song and video came to Thriller night at Hayven Hurst and had an interview with Michael 's nephew TJ , he said after that video he was so inspired by Michael and he became a voice actor, its so amazing to see him after all those years at Michael 's house , please react to history tour live performance of SIM , its beyond this world. ❤🙏👑🤟🦋🌻

It’s wonderful the thousands of doors he opened for many people…actors, dancers, musicians, tech, artists, fashion designers etc… he impacted so many lives. The positive ripples of his life continue to fan out into this troubled world. He’s a little bit of solace for us all at the end of a troubled day ❤

As an American, I'm hearing an element of British triphop in this great song. Like it would have been welcome with Massive Attack's backing on Protection or Heligoland.

I'm a lifelong fan of all 3 of his eras (J5/The Jacksons/MJ solo), so not only can't I pick just one favorite song from him, but I can't pick a favorite from each era, as the catalogs are way too extensive & I have multiple favorites in each, & for multiple reasons.

My favorite of all time thanks mate Where’s your buddy ? MJ wrote this song in the hotel .. can believe KGB the Russian was following MJ everywhere?

its a beautiful song.. but it is sad how isolated he had to be to write this song... THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER human being as famous as MJ was.. wow... it was sad and incredible to witness at the same time
