Hopper and Billy were the MVP’s of this season , they were amazing. Hopper defeated Grigori like a boss and Billy was able to redeem himself , very satisfying. I dont care what some people think , i belive that Billy redeemed himself , he was only 18 year’s old and still he was able to sacrifice his life for his sister’s best friend , and he apologized to Max for everything , that’s a very good redemtion to me.

Yeah, Billy was clearly a bit unhinged, but he clearly would never do anything that he did in season 3 if he weren't under the influence of the mind flayer. For him it must have been a sort of unwaking nightmare, where any resistance to what the mind flayer wanted resulted in the worst sorts of memories and feelings popping into his head to the point where it was unbearable. That's definitely not canon, but considering season 4, I would say it is a definite possibility.

It's true that they made him annoying, you're not wrong in saying that. In my opinion, that was such a great decision. Hopp was being annoying because, for the first time in a long time, he was finally feeling things again. The new connection with a daughter brought him happiness, but it also brought him fear, anxiety and deep stress. His newly kindling romance with Joyce brought the passion back into him, but it also made him hesitant, self-concious, and insecure. Previously, he was able to handle the abnormal amount of stress due to being a calm and stoic, but empty character. That goes out the window when you're finally brought back to being a full human again with real emotions and ties. It's a beautiful (and annoying) way of showing just how much he developed in the show.

Great reaction as always! I second the calls for reactions to Ted Lasso and The Good Place! Some thoughts I had at the end of this episode… not spoilers because I knew nothing more than anyone watching this, and I’m not confirming or denying what actually happened, but turn away if you want to avoid speculation about what may have happened… I’m always amazed at people getting very emotional here over Hopper, because I was 100% certain he wasn’t dead, starting with the scene where they clearly showed the Russian being disintegrated by the explosion, but Hopper was nowhere to be seen! If you don’t show me a death, I don’t believe it. And then of course they had the post-credit saying “not the American”, which I took as confirmation that Hopper was alive. I thought this was a small misstep on the part of the writers, because whether he died or not, they clearly wanted the emotion of his death. But apparently many more people definitely had the emotional reaction to his death from those scenes than I would’ve guessed. (I still found it emotional on behalf of the characters who were grieving, but I wasn’t grieving with them.) Looking forward to their reaction to Season 4, whether Hopper lives or not! 😜

Imagine leaving off with that cliffhanger and having to wait for S4 to roll out, lol. It was Hop's letter for me. I still think the "Feel Good" comes from bits of nostalgia, a tight (small) friend group that grows up together, unapologetic nerdy view on things with kids being true to themselves, I get lost in it all. CRAZY circumstances happening around Hawkins and the upside down give it a horror, scary and unpredictable plot device that counters the feel good vibes but somehow it still ends with lots of love within the core group. Cheers! Looking forward to S4 reactions. ;)
