I hope one day we can change the wording from "the detective is PLAYING on his emotions" to appealing to his emotions. These detectives were great, and while there is a strategic play here of course, they are human first and I feel they really do show that with a great level of compassion for the entire situation as a whole, to get answers and justice. You can certainly tell they are fathers. Kudos to them!

Same difference. 🙄 These detectives aren't appealing to anything, everything they do is lie. It's just a job for them. (Not for all, but most.) Audio guy with editing experience here with some advice I'd charge most people for, but in this case it's for the greater good. Because y'all are great and good. ;) There's two things i would recommend doing on basically every video to make things both easier to hear and less fatiguing on the listener's eardrums: 1: Crank the volume so the loudest dialogue is peaking around -10dB. 2: put a hard limiter at -8dB, just above the voice threshold. Hard limiters cause issues with square clipping, but if you do it this way you should miss all the speech with the limiter. It'll make those noises that blow our eardrums out sound bad (as if they don't already sound bad coming through those radioshack conference call mics they use lol) , but not as loud, and closer to the volume of the speech. I do this with essentially everything i edit, and having things always running around the same volume level makes it so you can also standardize any audio you add to an episode to be around the same level, -10, and you know it will always be heard well and clearly. Then most people will be able to "set and forget" their volume knobs instead of constantly turning it up and down, and your comments section will be filled with more episode discussion and less "ow my ears." Doesn't bug me, for the record. But i see complaints all over and have started giving this advice out to any truecrime channel i come across with police interrogation room footage.
@SaifDrives Жыл бұрын

My first instinct is to say something about never letting someone get you this bent out of shape. Don’t let them affect your mental health. Someone who loves you won’t do that. Taking this approach where they appear to be walking along side him VS going after him, creating the narrative that he was severely depressed, was smart. The way that they don't give him the option to claim any innocence, but act like they sympathize with him, got him talking. This is why you can’t be too comfortable in having the same routine, always need to make sure your doors are locked in your home/vehicle, you are always aware of your surroundings and always trust your gut instincts. Never go jogging/walking alone. Make sure you have at least two firearms in your home, cameras, all the windows locked and curtains so that no one knows where you are in your house. Never leave your drink unattended if you go out. This story is just a reminder, especially for us women that it could literally happen to anyone, and for no reason. I always tell my family I love them every time I see them or talk to them. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring. Stay safe out there everyone! Check on those you love regularly. 🥰

About halfway through this when they were talking about the 2 people that called them and he was just playing stupid and acting like he didn't know who they were talking about, his delay tactics did absolutely nothing but delay the interrogation and make it last longer. Everyone knew exactly who they were all talking about and it really didn't have much of a bearing on the case anyway. Other than just to be non cooperative, I'm not sure what his point even was for doing this. He even told them that they expect him to be honest but they aren't being honest. They aren't the ones being questioned here. He isn't the one controlling the interrogation. As minor of an impact as this part was for his case, it is a major red flag about his narcissistic personality. He is entitled and feels like he needs to control every situation and everyone around him, even minor things that really don't even matter.

"You're not a bad person, you're not a monster, things happen, people make mistakes, maybe this was a horrible accident, you're intelligent, it could've been self defense, blah blah blah." All of that is them blowing smoke way up your ass, all the way up, it'll be coming out your ears, eyes, nose, everything. 💨💨😤 "Can we offer you a cold drink or something to eat? Obviously my first thoughts are of the victim and her family, but I also can't help feeling awful for this young man's mother and family. Everything you hoped your child could be, and grow into, is gone forever. You'll never get to freely hug them again, or build new memories and experiences. You'll also never see them the same way again. Doesn't mean you stop loving them, but that pride would be gone forever. Your beliefs about them being a good person would be gone (I imagine), and I'm sure you'd always blame yourself. Regardless of whether I'm right about how they feel or not, I'm sure they would say everything changed in an instance. As bad as that has to be, it could never compare to the pain the victims family/mom feels. I hope they can find peace somehow. ❤
