That Max vs Vecna scene is truly one of the best scenes in the entire series, if not THEE best! The entire build up to it, to her letter to Billy, to her being pulled into Vecna's hell, to Kate Bush playing in the background, to the flashbacks of all the friends that love her, to her desperation to get back to those loved ones and even that dramatic pause before she comes back... excellent! Definitely set a bar for scene execution! Sadie Sink really knocked it out of the park!
@BL00DYME552 жыл бұрын
This whole sequence actually made me tear up, especially during flashbacks to Max with her friends and at the end when she wakes up and falls into Lucas' arms. Felt such relief I couldn't contain my emotion. And i rarely if at all cry when watching film/tv. The only few other moments that made me tear up are probably the death of Arthur Morgan in RDR2, and maybe the ending of Cyberpunk saying goodbye to Johnny or to V depending on the ending you choose. I could probably list a few more games, but it'll take too long. My point is, nowadays games seem to evoke more emotion from me than movies or tv series, so the Duffer brothers really made something special with Stranger Things, cause it really felt like an emotional roller-coaster and I loved it. Can't wait for July 1st.
@PneumaNoose2 жыл бұрын
YES! If the mind believes it’s real, then it IS real. I was sobbing…weeping watching this. I relate to Max SO MUCH. I grew up with an older brother who hated me, beat me, tormented me, called me awful names, and hated having me around-all the while I just wanted to be his friend and wanted his love. We became friends as adults like Max hoped she and Billy would one day. I was even pro at video games (I was a sponsored gamer in my early 20s) and a skater/outcast who is fiercely loyal to her friends…JUST like Max. I even drive a fast car now as an adult and have always loved speed (420hp 2SS Camaro-fit for a Zoomer!). Watching her read the letter to Billy and see this entire scene play out… I just couldn’t stop crying. The scene itself even resembles my Sleep Paralysis that I’ve had since the day after my grandma died at age 10. What I used to call my “Shadow Man” will forever be called Vecna from now on! This scene just hits SO HARD! I was diagnosed with chronic depression after my dad died at age 7 and I just see the fight myself and so many other young girls face in this scene. I just can’t love it more. I love Max so much!!!

This show sets the bar for how all shows should be handled. The show itself of course has to be phenomenal. Good writing, unexpected plot twists, strong character development, good acting, etc. All of that goes hand in hand with a good show these days. But what Stranger Things does better than anyone right now is the social media aspect of it. The live events they had during the launch of S4, their daily social media posts, contests, etc. Not to mention the incredible detailed behind the scenes stuff. There really is nothing like this out right now. If the writing continues to be this good, I think this could go down as the best show ever made.

Cool hearing her voice from time to time while playing Guild Wars 2, or catching one of her Supernatural episodes, still remember "The Guild" days...haven't caught any of her streams, but I know or at least knew of them. Having said that...this looks bland, essentially run of the mill stock press junket questions. Also, that last round about came off really weird and racial. Not saying she did anything, may even have been subconscious on the part of whoever produced this or was in her ear, may have even just been edited this way, or may even have been set up in terms of scene relevance meaning nothing at all, but she went from Finn to Sadie to Gaten to Caleb to Priah. That's a weird pecking order, but one that was predictable as soon as she went to Sadie second. Just saying.

This seems so much like a D&D adventure. In D&D the dungeon master has a story line in his head of the way he expects the adventure to go. His players, however, shape the story by how they react to one another and to the challenges presented. The writers and directors seem to embrace this concept and let the characters shape the advancement of the story. The actors also seem to be emboldened by this atmosphere to become their characters and react realistically to enhance their universe.

I must admit I was slightly shocked to realise not only how much I liked season 4 (after feeling a bit fatigued with the Strangerverse) but that I honestly think its the best season of them all, including the first one. The "russian segments" are shockingly mature and well orchestrated for being in a "teen adventure". To come out swinging this hard after 3 seasons prior, is not only a remarkable achivement, but also a feat that gives hope. By all normal televisionshow-standards, this show should have gone artistically bankrupt by now; instead team Stranger Things seems to be more inspired than ever. Warms my cold heart.
