Any hemi cars in the lot? Daytona's interest you? Enjoying life is a worthwile pursuit. Good for you, I've seen guys with more than most will ever have and still chase the things they don't. My 2cents.....sell some. You can only drive one at a time anyways. If you have 6-8 cars on the road it's plenty to keep up with by itself. I too have suffered from "I wants" and too many projects. You never get to them all, you change direction before you get there. It's just human nature. I enjoy your videos, especially the metal work (saved the firewall! Lol). Your explanations in assembly are great, particularly with replacement metal. And hey, if the worst thing you do is have too many project cars.... you're doing alright. Thanks for sharing

Hey Chris, i have to congratulate you on the growth of your channel, 40k subs! Most of these questions you get is probably from newer subscribers, but i know you keep answering them in your normal videos. Like why dont you get a shop. Its been answered before, you said that you like working so close to home, and the costs of a shop in vegas is rediculous. Who wants to just work and not have time to play? Lol. Keep it up, this is one of my favorite car channels and the only mopar orientated one at that.

Man the early eighties were a good time for buying Mopars. I used to be into E bodies. They all needed work but you could pick up a decent one for $2500 or one that needed quarters or frame rail work for around $500. I kick myself for not buying a 72 running Charger a friend offered me. He wanted me to buy his Charger for $2500. It was a 340 automatic SE. I think your doing fine, and if your happy with your lifestyle, that's half the battle to a good life.

Great video! Thanks for discussing what you see people paying in relation to asking price. That seems to be the main point of contention. The price knockers seem to think that everyone is only paying a fraction of the listed price. I'm pretty sure that is a myth and that seems to line up with your real world experience. If they were priced too high then they wouldn't be selling. I've been watching Chargers for almost 3 years now and these listing typically don't last an entire week. It wouldn't surprise me if they even go up more. I want to build one after I'm done with my Coronet and I understand that if you want a Charger then you need to pay the Charger premium.

Another piece of advice might be "If the asking price is reasonable, and you feel compelled to haggle anyway, you're free to do so- but understand that it's at the risk of blowing the whole deal." I've seen it happen. Glad to see those cars in the hands of someone who just plain likes them.

I had a '71 R/T 440 4-speed, pretty close to mint after all the money I put into it. Sold it for $8,500. In 1989. Had to, couldn't afford to keep it back then. Sad to say but I don't expect to ever be able to afford another, at least not in that condition. So now I pretty much stick to Sweptlines. They've gone up in price, too, but not near as much, and they are still mighty fine Mopars. :-)

Guys like me who who only own one charger grab what we see and hold on without letting go, regardless what we paid, because it doesn't matter that some of us overpaid if we never intend to sell. Especially if we have tons of fun messing around with it regardless of what a pile it may be.

When is a charger deemed "not fixable"? How much does it cost normally to get a charger into a decent shape? Do you have to be a experienced welder to weld body panels? What all work on a charger can be done by the local average Joe in a basic garage with basic tools?
@johndeffenbaugh57093 жыл бұрын
You can fix pretty much any of them depending how much you want to spend on one you can spend a good chunk on panels alone you figure roughly 750 per fender roughly 400 per quarter 600 roof skin all depends on how rough ya buy it in my front and rear frame rails are gone so I bought another b body donor car for the price of one frame rail.

I got a 68 Charger through a police officer that had actually drawn his gun on me during a traffic stop (was grabbing my front plate from under seat to show him, oops...) Once I got frisked and explained myself, the convo changed to the 68 I was driving and.... Chased a myth/rumor of multiple Superbirds owned by a local Chevy guy for a year, only to find them by accident just days after the guy sold them for almost nothing. Saved one 68 Charger from a mobile crusher literally by SECONDS, by jumping a fence and blocking the forklift driver... Oh the stories....😲😁
