Awesome dyno tests! You should compare 2015-18 vs 21. I think the 19+ is where the type ra engine and parts were brought over to sti

Good stuff guys thanks. A better stock comparison would be a 15-18 STi vs 18 type RA and/or 19-21 STi. For a few reasons, the cars you tested here are basically identical, but the pre facelift and post facelift cars of the VA chassis (15-21) differ slightly. Focusing on the engine alone, the 15-18 STi uses the 10103ac890 shortblock with w25 heads, while the 19-21 STi uses the 10103ad020 shortblock more commonly known as the 18'type RA shortblock with n25 heads, 2018 was kinda the transition year as it's the 1st year of the facelift amongst other changes that we all know but only the type RA received the newer long block with the parts mentioned above, while the non type RA STi used the outgoing hardware from the 15-17 pre facelift STi.

You’re correct. Once we get a stock 15-18 car in for comparison I will throw it up. From tuning them it does look like a step up in performance was made with the 19+ cars.

@@stratifiedauto hell I'd let you guys baseline mine if I was local, too bad I'm not. (17 STi stock) regardless great video, allows the guys with the later STi to know where they stand from a starting point. Thank you.

American dyno make alot more than Australian dynos. Mine is 2019 sti and stock run it made 151kw(202hp)@wheels and with turbo back invidia q300+process west cold air intake and 3 port boost solenoid it made 191kw(256hp)@wheels on mainline dyno sae correction set at 2.5 it also made 19 pounds boost after pro tune compared to 17 pounds stock and torque went from 472 newton metres to 541 newton metres but on graph torque shows lower figures so not sure why and it says derived torque ? Car feels better and boost kicks in earlier around 3300rpm compared to 4000 stock

Dynos will read differently. We tune a lot of these cars both here and internationally. We can definitely help you out with tuning if you need it. www.stratifiedauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=152_203&products_id=989

Stage 1+ Protune on my 2018 WRX made 275WHP and 302WTQ on a mustang dyno. Only has Mishimoto cold air intake, Mishimoto big TMIC and nameless muffler delete. When it comes to tuning and fuel adjustments. The WRX is superior with alot of room left on the table for tuning.
@stratifiedauto Жыл бұрын
Correct. Fuel system goes further without upgrades. Intercooler upgrade is a must on the WRX.

Very interesting. I have a stock 2020 sti and it did 310 on the dyno. We call it the Wednesday motor in the group 🤷🏽♂️
@stratifiedauto8 ай бұрын
There will definitely be variances from the factory but also not all dynos read the same. That’s something to keep in mind as well.

@@stratifiedauto yes that correct. We did a dyno day using a hub dyno and all other STIs results were around the same numbers as the video. We had to triple check mine. I have pictures and videos. I know, I know 😂😂🤷🏽♂️

I’m calling cap bro, a sti in stock form doesn’t even have the parts necessary to put down 310 whp. Those are numbers you get with a turbo back exhaust, intake, Inlet, upgraded intercooler, some fuel mods and a tune targeting 20psi of boost. Maxing out the stock turbo, with an elh will bump that from 310 to 320-325whp, fbo with stock turbo on e85 will put you at 350 whp. I’m sure you did get videos and a sheet that said 310 but that’s not a true 300whp I promise, stock sti’s just do not flow nearly good enough to make 300whp .
