How much Power does a stock STI make?? Running my Stock 2019 STI on the Dyno!!

What's up you guys! Today we start the process to add some power to the STI! First I wanted to see how much power my STI makes on the stock map, then we also did a run with the Cobb Stage 1 OTS map. At this time the the only mod I had on the car was the Tomei Catback exhaust. Make sure to tune in to next weeks video to see the new mod actually go on the car!

Damn 278 WHP and 280WTQ are great factory numbers! I think Subaru was being modest when they said the car got only 5HP for the 2019 updated engine.

Thanks. What is odd is my stock 19 can make 18 - 18.4 psi in boost....seems to hold 18...your max was 14.9.....wondering if your 14.9 was an error...or if not all stock STI's are created equal for some reason. Note, I am living at sea level....more or less.

I’ve seen mine hit +20psi in 3rd gear? Possibly 4th. Completely stock. No exhaust or engine work. Unless you count the eco-hitch 😅

Stock Sti you have to be in sport sharp to hit max boost of 16.2+ in sport it’s limited to 15 something and intelligent mode limits it to 9psi stock so the tuner is only in sport mode not sport sharp

Just keep your car clean and simple, the moment you start doing crap to ur engine etc you are accelerating the life outta the car and people complain why their head gaskets and others fail on them. I have a 2016 sti all I did was Ingen cold air, Magnaflow exhaust and lowered it. That's good enough for me and regular maintenance. Cus I want my baby 👶 to last as long as I can without and serious problems....

It only had the tomei catback exhaust, just having at cat back if you are lucky adds 5 hp which in my opinion is a negligible amount… plus I didn’t get a tune for the cat back, it was still on the stock ECU map

These cars has a lot of potential for making power, but they just aren’t reliable. Get all your bolts-on and run it on e-85, it pretty much a ticking bomb from there unless you start building the internals. I have a 370z nismo and 2015 sti. I know from experience. When my sti was stock, it will never beat my nismo, only 1-4 from a dig, but anymore the nismo starts reeling in the sti but when both car are fully tuned the sti pulls from a roll & dig, but it feels likes it gonna blow up.

Well known fact in the subaru community that the WRX makes more boost than an STi. It means nothing.

For 2 seconds, literally. The stock WRX only allows 2 seconds of overboost and then it cuts back to 18 max.

At the end of the day you’re driving an old FWD car, whereas the STI is new and awd. The STI also handles exponentially better lol. $6k on a build and you’d still get gapped by a $3k motorcycle. There’s more to a car than just going fast.
