This is the simplified version of the Cleveland Cassata cake, I will make this since even though I have the recipe for the Bakery kind, that's way too much work. Yours looks close enough so I'll make it. Thank you for making this and posting on youtube I subscribed stay BLESSED.

You’re from Cleveland Ohio? Me too! This is the Cleveland Italian Cassata. I make this often. I make it a little differently than u method wise but still the same strawberry custard whipped cream cake. It’s something we had at family functions being Italian.

I notice you use a lot of corn starch. You might take note that the enzimes in saliva can break down cornstarch. This is important to know, because if you are a person who likes to taste the batter or sause it could be a problem when you are using cornstarch. BTW, I have made cassata cakes and have never used cornstarch.

Yes Way too much corn starch! Also there was no tempering of the egg yolks. He did say it was his first time.
