What continues to amaze me about this particular number is how well Darwin, Tim, and Scot sound like a whole, well rehearsed studio accompanying the vocals. The original (which is admittedly very well done ) has piano, steel guitar, violin, bass, rhythm guitar and drums plus who knows what else with how many overdubs. Everyone's playing here is brilliant, but the arrangement is sublime. It captures all the necessary nuances and textures of the original production without losing the rhythm and fullness of a complete band, using just three instruments, live. Supergroup indeed.
@lynwessel2471 Жыл бұрын
Darwin had met Scott over the years but had never played with him. He came and worked with Tim and the girls 4 times and then they asked Scott if he would join them. One rehearsal with everyone present.

Also no agents, no managers, no record label, no producers. 100% connection with their audience and total control over what they want to do as a result. One more "no": no autotune. It's all them, doing it for the love of the art and their audience. It doesn't get any truer than that.

Jack, Sammie only briefly glances at her dad to see how he is reacting, but mostly she's looking over to Maggie because of how the men in the audience are reacting to what she just sung. I don't think there was any surprise in her hitting the note. Maggie is even smiling in advance because she know what's going to happen after Sammie finishes singing that line. To watch all of this, go to timestamp 3:38

I assume the affirmation from the audience that she was good that early in her singing career was pretty novel to her at the time.

Will always be one of my greatest regrets in life that I am 10 years late to the party. I have listened to this groups version and watch the video a thousand times. Can't get through the week without listening to it twice. It's The Melodies are perfect and the look on the young girl's face when she hits the high note and Nails it absolutely Nails it, and she knows it.. Do you remember when people start to tell you how good you are and your voice has really good solid sound. But then there's that moment always happens when you realize there's actually a lot of Truth to that. I think y'all are past that you have a solid body of work. Hang in there girl if nothing and I mean nothing else never happens in your career, but personally I believe this bigger and better to come. Just know this I promise you you have touched so many people thousands of them thousands of times and out there Somewhere In The Ether there's people and other bands who are inspired by this band to do what you do and maybe some can reach that high note and catch that fever or the feeling I've noted when you get it and hit it right. Definitely your band and another KZbin band the Petersons are definitely my personal favorite. And of course Billy strings. But that's a whole other story

@@lynwessel2471 about 6 weeks I read your reply. So then a few days ago a KZbin video of this young lady Emily. I remembered and look back the name you had said and so I listen to that video and my first thought was this girl has definitely got pipes. So I started searching listen to couple cover songs yellow brick road and another cover. She definitely has the look and The Voice. So I kept searching because sometimes when someone sings a version of a cover song of such a well-known artist as Elton John or Whitney Houston maybe Dolly Parton it's really hard to tell because your first expectations are so high to reach their level you can find yourself judging and comparing them to the original artist. if that makes any sense. she had a beautiful voice my initial thought was okay she was pretty good. But I kept searching and I found her sing an original song that she had written. Wow okay I got it she has a great voice with a wide range and a really good sound to her voice. Has she ages just a little and her voice matures and she finds her own flavor of her voice, kind of like she does in her original music I could only imagine. Thanks definitely worth the listening hope to hear more.
