I love how it's an option even if you're not intending to romance Freddie. Why, it maybe makes it even more meaningful of a sacrifice because it's more selfless that way - you're not only giving up your powers, you're also giving up your chance to live a long life alongside one of the Idols you fell in love with, too. I also hate but love how after losing her eidolon, Grace keeps on singing even when there's no magic causing it. Her special, powerless reprise of Adrift is much more somber, lost and depressing. she returns to school, and somewhat distances herself from the idols again - yet deep down she's still a muse, she always way, even before. It just makes it feel all the more tragic, because she's in her element with the eidolon. Freddie is probably a half-decent muse, but she definitely doesn't seem to take to it as quickly and enthusiastically as Grace did, she rarely sings or hums, even before it.

Look Into Me is absolutely one of the biggest earworms I have from this game. And I love how Medusa can be seen as both a victim and an aggressor dependent on the route you take with her.

However, does the "mixed color(s)" Pantheon Edition mean it is the 'Canon' route for Stray Gods? Since the Pantheon Edition is generally the first/frontline soundtrack that is marketed, where-as the [color]-specific albums are 'alternates'? 2.) [2:03:46] *_'Everything (has Changed)'_** --* It was definitely the correct call to include _'Everything'._ Otherwise, I think many Players, including myself, would have missed the _('Everything')_ song and option/route for No Romances; especially for this Mass Effect Trilogy player (me) who went through *_SOOO_* many of the ME romance/fling combinations.. *;>* 3.) [2:01:54] *_It's Time (Reprise)_** --* My one (minor) nitpick would be that I think _'It's Time (Reprise)'_ would have been *FAR* better as a duet between Freddie (Janina Gavankar) and Grace (Laura Bailey), as like the _'Here for the Ride'_ duets between Apollo (Troy Baker) and Grace. 4.) *_Sequel?_** --* Here is hoping for a full sequel to [Stray Gods (2023)], not just DLCs. *;)* - a.) Whether a direct (full) sequel to [Stray Gods (2023)]; not necessarily a continuation to Grace's (& Orpheus' DLC) story. - b.) Or perhaps a separate story, but in similar vein/themes, a la the Final Fantasy series. This route could also re-use the cast, while also letting the cast switch up roles (e.g.: Ashley Johnson as the Central Protagonist, Laura Bailey as the Antagonist/"Bad Guy"/Villain, Troy Baker as the smarmy con-artist/-deity, etc.). Apart from the fact that you - all of your - created something really unique and amazing, I have to say, I loved Challenging the Queen better in the live show. I think I already listened it a thousand times before I was able to hear it in the game, and what Mary Elizabeth McGlynn did during the live show was incredible. I think she was more "raw" there, more aggressive and more theatrical, and that made the song unbelievably incredible. It would be so great to listen them performing some variations live again, they are such amazing people. Anyway, amazing job. I love all of it!

The energy from a live show is always something special. But for me, the whole point with this is player agency and live that simply can't be done. So these are the compromises we make :)

You'd need either insanely talented musicians to remember all the variations, or some sort of digital support to cue up the right sheet music in the right order, but it would be something to experience if it could be done...

Having played through it three times and having backed it back in 2019, I can absolutely say that the lyricists, the composers, and everyone else involved in not just the soundtracks but the game as a whole are monumentally phenomenal and I cannot express enough how much this will forever live in my brain. Truly delivered on this concept in the best way imaginable. All of the credit where credit is due, this was an amazing journey.

lol I love the Assassin's Creed screenshot in the background 2:05:54. 😆 I would also like to say I had seen some ads for the game prior to it's release but when I watched an hour of Gab Smolders playthrough the week the game was released I couldn't stop thinking about it and bought it two days later because I had to see the rest of the game. I played through Stray Gods in two days. I probably would have finished in a one day but I messed up and had to start from the beginning five hours into the game. I have fallen in love with this game and everyone did such an amazing job. Laura's performance as Grace has actually pushed me to finally take the proper steps to become a better singer and to pursue my dream of voice acting. I would love to see a sequel to this game. Thank you and everyone who put in such fantastic work in order to bring this amazing game to life. Ha I was thinking who knows maybe I can even be in the next game. 😉

What an incredible game. I just finished my first playthrough and want to immediately dive in for a second peak with different choices. The talent on display here is incredible. This game also feels like it was catered directly to me. I grew up a musical theatre kid and am a hardcore gamer these days. Add in that Austin Wintory is one of my favorite video game composers. Not to mention the Buffy Once More with Feeling vibe the game has. Congrats to the team that made this happen. Will definitely have this soundtrack on repeat for a long time to come.

Started my third playthrough and absolutely loving it. Congrats to the whole team! Hard to pick one favorite song but for the time being it's probably The Trial due to how epic it feels and the fact that it colors Athena as a grand and tragic character.

Technically speaking, I believe we calculated there are something like 92 million variations possible on "The Trial." However many are very subtly different from one another and it's unnecessarily pedantic to label it that way. It's nonetheless true ... :)

My favorite musical of all time, topping Rent, Avenue Q, and little shop of horrors, something I wasn't expecting. A whopping 5 songs brought me to tears on my forst playthrough alone, granted 2 of those were definitely cause I ran with a Freddie romance but still. Allright took the time to write a proper comment so here goes nothing ! Astray : Truely a gift for ppl who loves them to finally have a song featuring Laura and Ashley as a duet (I'm not considering "your turn to roll" as a duet it was ... another kind of song ...) The Chorus is in accord : Was so happy to hear Felicia sings, but then kinda disappointed it didn't last long enough T-T I Can Teach you : When Grace performs her "solo" I can totally imagine Laura just doing vocal exercices :D Challenging a queen : I believe first Grace's path is the blue one. Tho I love the rapping in the red path, Laura's voice is so angelic here ♥ Later on, the choir is so beautiful I almost cried. Cast a spell : During the green path, Freddie has a very interesting opportunity to express what anyone who is keen enough already know : that she's in love with Grace. I also found very smart to let her say that "it's a brave thing to do", a foreshadowing for their love song. And that she "missed her chance" while in the end you can see Grace in the background, like, the big hint amirite ?! The ritual : Merle Dandridge is astonishing, all the cast is obviously great but that woman ... I cant help to sing "we were wrong we were wrong" ... Anyway, although the green path has one of the most lovely tune (that we could hear during the trailer :D ) "Lost in a moment, lost in a song", my favorite path is the red one. Give us some rock'n roll mate \m/ "nahnahnahnahnah ... ? EVERYBODY !" The Throne : WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MUSIC ? More srsly, I was AMAZED that you managed to cast Anthony Rapp. As a huge Rent's fan (La vie Boheeeeeme) it was another gift ♥ It's time : That violin opening OMG. Did I mention imo violin is the most beautiful instrument along with the piano. Well now I did. And the duet between Mary-Elizabeth and Ashley, such an unexpected cheff's kiss. Was also so happy to get the chance to hear a little more from Ashley who didn't sing that much in "Astray". I won't say more about Grace & Freddie part here, most ppl already have. If only : Janina Gavankar true Most Valuable Singer here. The Trial : The intro gives me chills every da...n time. Felicia delivers the lines perfectly tho she doesnt consider herself a singer. And the music that really starts during "it had to be" ... ! I was delighted again to hear one the actresses who didnt get a chance to sing for a long time to shine and my goodness Felicia shines so bright in this one, you know she will mean REAL BUSINESS. The part when she sings about her omlympus is gone is simply heartbreaking. Yeah. I love the OST and love the game.

Austin, I can't express how much I am impressed by hard work of the whole team. It is simply brilliant how the music shifts between styles, while still keeping a coherent feeling of a song. The idea is completely out of the world: "hey, let's create an interactive musical with exponential number of possible music variations!"😅 Either someone had been sleeping during math classes or is an ambitious genius with strive and capabilities of reaching the impossible🤔 Based on the results, I am leaning toward the latter 😉

Especially being a father of 4 myself 😉 Speaking of Laura - I was actually keep wondering if Grace's great variety of music parts have been performed by a few people... How wrong was I 😅 After listening to all 4 OSTs a couple from hundreds of thoughts in my head: - I love how the music in this OST surprises me over and over again - Medusa's song was one of the biggest surprises when hearing for the first time - amazing voice first of all, and outstanding music/effects - greetings and congratulations to your very talented friend - Troy Baker (love the "You Gotta hear this!" series) - I love the Apollo's singing - I love how you used thematic instruments to depict an emotion/a person (esp. soft/sad/mysterious feeling of a vibraphone) - before listening to the green edition I expected: "ok, this one will be this calm, peaceful version". I was delighted to find out it's much more nuanced, with many strong parts too. Same with the red one - not being always super strong. This truly is an unique experience to me. And I hope there will be a lot of other people appreciating the extremely hard work of the whole team, which resulted in such a masterpiece! 🤩 chapeau bas!🙏

Allegra Clarke was the big revelation of this cast to me. Cast a spell was an amazing performance, or multiple amazing performances I should say, it brought me to tears. The happy ending version that is, I couldn't bring myself to get the sad version we hear here. I'd also like to point out the great writing of the character, she managed to be both stern and lovable.

First of all i must congratulate all of you for this beautiful game i really enjoyed. The plot the characthers and the song. I enjoyed so much the care you all put it in the story and the thematic on particulary the ritual, the throne and freddie. I cryed j lought i thought. I really hope in the future there will be a sequel couse there are so many story who must continue. Or it will be really a waste of all that care. I want to know what happen with the rest of all of the gods, i want to see athena redimed and medusa find finnaly peace, i want to see what grace will do next, must to see apollo finnaly have inner peace like afrodite, and see epestus rejoined with his beloved. As much as I want to see more of this universe, Austin Wintory has repeated time and time again that there is no "true" or "canon" ending, so a sequel would be kind of impossible.

What led you to make certain decisions over others, e.g. Why the Blue I Can Teach You or the Green Challenging A Queen over, say, the Green or Red choices for those songs?

Forgive me for asking and I know this might be a longshot, but are you going to release any instrumental versions? Whether that means instrumental versions of the four current albums, or some other way, that would honestly be amazing and would help with covers and such. Although, I wonder how that'd work with Adrift, which starts Acapella. Also, what will happen to the songs that we have heard glimpses of, say, in the pitch trailor, but which might not be in the game any more? Do these stand a chance of being heard, or are the small snippets in the Fig pitch the only ones we'll get of that song where Grace is singing a sort of plot synposis (which seems to be fairly full version) but then what about that battle that talks about entering a lair unaware?

No, you can't hear both "If only" and "Everything." If you hear "If Only" you will likely hear its reprise, yes

First of all, huge thank you for your hard work on this beautiful soundtrack!💜 It was such a delight finding all unique combinations in all these songs. There's only one left - The Trial, I think I figured out the structure and damn, that's a lot of playthroughs! No rest for the wicked hah So now to the question that drives me insane. In some of my playthroughs I stumbled upon this version of If Only with these sweet bass lines that make Freddie's cry a lot more powerful, and I love it so much. But I can't for the love of God recreate it in the game, no matter what I do I only get the version without the bass. The only notes I have is that it's Kickass-Charming trait... so I could use some help, HOW do you get this version?

SO glad you're into it :) When you say 'bass' do you mean electric bass, or acoustic (upright)? It's different based on which trait you are. Also when you say you stumbled on it in your playthru, you mean you did it once and now it won't happen again?

@@awintory I got obsessed with it, I admit... just a little :) I think it's a bass guitar? The one that goes along with Freddie's cry and also hits closer to the end of the song on "Only, if only, if we could just escape demise". Yeah, I got it ones with Kickass-Charming trait (or so my notes say), I've recorded it, so it definitely happened :D But now I can only get the other Charming/Clever version even if I use Kickass trait. So I assumed there's more to it than just a trait.

@@awintory Oh, I think it's a bug... I checked Adrift (Reprise) (mortal), and there's only a basic version (no instruments) no matter the trait, but before the last patch it was a bass for Kickass and strings for Charming.

@@awintory I found a workaround for this bug and now I can get all proper versions for If Only plus the basic one, and 4 versions of Adrift (Reprise) (4 for Muse and 4 for mortal), 4th is the basic one - a cappella (mortal) and no trait's instruments (Muse). So my question is are you normally supposed to be able to get that a cappella version in-game, if yes, how? I also noticed that in If Only red and blue options are switched.

I think I'm going bonkers or something, but I can't figure out where exactly the track "Everything" (second-to-last) appears in-game. Did this song actually make the final cut? Or is it a bonus, album-exclusive track? Or worse, did I just fail to pick the blue route when I rolled into this world lol

Hi, could you please add a link in the description to the commentary that a blind person might be able to read somewhere? IT seems to be directly in the video and so we can't see the actual commentary. I've checked the descriptions and seen the song timestamps though, but am wondering if there might be a way that, as a blind person could I check out the commentary too?

@@awintoryhi, literally the easiest thing to do is to copy and paste the commentary into another file, and put a link to it somewhere such as an html file or text file or word document etc, and add that link to the description for your blind readers. Closed captioning causes the lyrics to also read. I'd rather open up the commentary in a completely different tab, pause the video, read the notes and play again, or vice versa.
