Did you guys feel the same way about the SCARS video? They seem like nods to previous eras of SKZ. As someone who really misses how loosely connected their MVs were, this was a nice surprise.

hyunjin's artist of the month performance was sooo good. there's a lot of krumping and krumping inspired elements in it and he does it all so well. the skz song camp series shows how they came up with their unit songs, the first three episodes are for the individual units and the rest are some behind the scenes stuff for planning and making the mvs.

Han probably wrote secret secret ages ago but i can tell you that in several mv making and skz talker videos that went up this comeback he was singing day6, even of day and young k's new title track lol

This video really does feel like a spiritual successor to I Am You, Voices and I just adore their more emotional tracks and how it gives the MV's a chance to showcase the more raw side and "brotherhood" moments between them

30:16 not sure about Han's supposed 'aesthetic' tbh. he usually writes songs based on his feelings and experience. 'melancholic boy' is a part of him. 'Secret Secret' was written in the end of 2019, that period of time was tough for him, and through the lyrics he expressed emotions and thoughts he had... As someone who also LOVES the sad-boy-melancholy-vocals thing, I particularly love your taste in music and seeing all your reactions to groups and bands like Hoppipolla, Young K, Lucy, F.T. Island, and also, of course, Stray Kids. You're the first person to point out that Hyunjin's AOTM styling does make him look like an ATEEZ member from Hala Hala era. The backup dancers are styled similar to the KQ Fellas outfits. I always love your takes. I agree he would have murdered Kingdom.

Scars was written at the end of 2019 (as we all know that was the hardest year for SKZ) backstage at Music Bank during their promotions for Levanter (if I'm not mistaken - I'm pretty sure that's what they were promoting). It's all about the trails and tribulations the group went through - pre debut to debut, to a few years into their career. It's such a sad but also uplifting song

Thank you. Love the reactions and agree that I wish more people would get into stray kids because they are so amazing. Most of my fam won't even listen to kpop because of the normal reason language. It makes me so mad but then I feel like your loss baby because kpop in general is so good. Hell half the time you can't understand what's petty is singing about but we still listen and like his music. It's not just music but the entertainment factor with kpop. So different. Don't get me wrong I love most all genres and different culture or instrumental music. From Bing Crosby to hard rock I love it all. But stray kids has my heart now. ❤

"Gone Away", "Surfin'" and "Red Lights" were unit songs that were also part of a the Song Camp series that they filmed. (Here is the link, definitely worth a watch if you are interested in how they all approach songwriting. kzbin.info/aero/PLtFPYOZOw-taeniJbihCI4lqpSAgxunbj ) The first 3 episodes were the different units separating to work on their tracks and then the last 2 episodes were them coming together to discuss their tracks, plan out the MV's, and film the MV's. They did all of the work from writing the lyrics to letting the MV Director know how they wanted the MV's to be filmed. "Surfin'" is GREAT as an MV, but you're right, it's not my favorite song to just play in the background either. "Gone Away" is NOT connected to the SKZU but it totally could be. As for "Scars", that is most definitely connected and I think you pointed out some things that connect back to previous MV's that I missed. Okay this is like suuuuuper late so you probably won’t see it but they have got a small current storyline for some besides! Mixtape: On Track > B Me (only an Unveil sadly but you can get more by watching the MV making) > Mixtape: OH > The View, with lots of theories on potentially Winter Falls and Ex also being a part of the storyline! Hyunjin recently reacted on his voice only vlive so it blew up my tl with theories haha, I recommend watching the MV’s in that order and see what you think! Just a bit of fun

Han said that he wrote Secret, Secret to let the listener know that he understands what it's like to have a secret like in the lyrics, aka sadness/depression/etc, he's been there with us. I think it was written around the time he took a hiatus in like 2019? SKZ said somewhere that Silent Cry was a response/follow-up to Secret, Secret.
