The guy did due diligence by closing their door, and probably checked in the morning if people were going about their normal day or else he would have called proper authorities. Best dog I ever had was found during a snow storm by my Uncle. It was sitting on a street corner, under a light, in an industrial area. Totally malnurished, bone thin and scared. My Uncle opened the car door, called to it and it ran right in the car. He couldn't bring it home so he showed up at my house and dumped it on my Mother. Literally he ran in, said take it tonight, I'll get it a home tomorrow and ran out a second later. Game over. We kept her and she was the most appreciative and well behaved dog I ever knew. She was a puppy and she lived her best, spoiled rotten life .
