I’ve tried desperately to find out how to get a clean HDMI signal from the smart controller without the overlay display info. I’ve lost a job opportunity because of this lack of a clean HDMI out. Do you have any ideas on how to achieve a clean HDMI out? Thanks Oliver

Can we get clean output without any function on the display?

I believe there is a menu choice to display only video or the pilot point of view with Telemetry. Next time I set this up I'll look for the setting. Its buried in the settings menu for HDMI.

Thank you so much, Bill! I am currently setting up my M210 to assist my local fire department. This helps a great deal if teams are spread out but still want to check the eye in the sky. Our little town and my little budget can’t afford the more expensive apps and such so this is a great alternative to get is started. Great job! 🤓😎

Can you plug the hdmi straight I to laptop from smart controller. Will that do the same thing
@BillBongle3 жыл бұрын
No. The HDMI port on a laptop is output only. You need a way to feed the signal into the laptop, hence the adapter.

The AUTEL device works very good. I am thankful.

Glad you found this helpful, its such a cheap and easy solution.

How do u operate the drone from inside? Not too many outdoor internet options.
@BillBongle3 жыл бұрын
First you would need a waiver of the line of site rule to make it a legal operation. As far as radio communications with the aircraft, you may need to experiment with an external antenna setup. Autel's new smart remote has external antenna ports which could be cabled to an external antenna.

Have you tried this via zoom out in the field?
@BillBongle2 жыл бұрын
Yes I did a test with Zoom and the latency was not bad. It was a workable solution.

I tried this but the zoom feed that I watched on my Samsung S21 Ultra was very unclear and I dont know why. Using DJI Mavic 2 EA, did exactly what you did but when I joined on my cellphone the quality is terrible

Thanks very much! But why would one do this inside at their computer? Can this be done using a laptop out on location while flying the drone?
@BillBongle3 жыл бұрын
Yes, as long as the laptop has a wifi/cellular connection. I use a Verizon Jet Pack and it works very well.

How is the quality of the stream. I’m looking to live stream to a command post. Will it be pixelated? Will the quality be as good as what I see on the remote?
@BillBongle4 жыл бұрын
The device will put out 1080p native, its decent quality. Much will depend on the quality of your Wi-Fi / cellular connection. Low bandwidth could cause latency and pixilation but that is true of any streaming solution. I do know agencies that have done this however and they had decent results. I ran my own test to validate this works and it did stream with acceptable results. It may not be the best solution but its cheap and reliable.

So how would I do this with my Mavic air remote that only has a USB port?
@BillBongle3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this solution replies on an external HDMI connector. Some people have had success streaming through Wi_Fi using zoom or Microsoft Teams. This would require a Wi-Fi connection to a hot spot.

Good vid! Question, does the live deck get the image from the controller or directly from the drone? Meaning if you have a high power antenna on the controller does that impact on the quality of the live deck stream?
@BillBongle3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, the Live Deck communicates directly with the aircraft. The antenna on the remote controller will have no impact on the video feed to the Live Deck. The Live Deck also has replaceable antennas which means you could replace the omni-directional stick antennas with something else. This is a good option if the Live Deck is placed inside a command vehicle. You could add extension cables to the antenna ports and place an external antenna for the Live Deck outside on the roof for better reception.

@@BillBongle Thank you very much! That is helpful for sure. I'm new to the whole drone thing and am trying to decide between the Autel Evo 2 640T and the DJI Mavic 2 EA, both have their advantages and disadvantages, so hard to try and figure out which has the overall advantage.
Hardly inexpensive.... Crystal Sky or Autel Live Deck.... come on...
@BillBongle4 жыл бұрын
To clarify, the streaming solution is what is inexpensive. It's about $10. I think most people realize that these public safety drones are not cheap.
@michaelsheron17314 жыл бұрын
He is referring to the USB device to permit the streaming. You either have a CS tablet or most use a iPad which will also run you $800+ so in the end, you have to have these to fly your system effectively without using a phone where you have to squint. No, there is nothing cheap about having the proper setup in the UAS world, but neither is owning a Bugatti either.
