For those who are curious I can basically break down the "overall" story of the Rusty Lake. I won't be directly spoiling the actual story but the stuff I'm gonna put makes the games a little less..intriguing as you then understand certain motifs in the games. Basically it all revolves around those cubes. Black Cubes are peoples "bad memories" while white cubes are the "good memories". When you extract a persons memories from their dead body their body "corrupts" like the black spooky person with white eyes. However these cubes, in combination with other materials (like different coloured cubes) can basically create an "elixir of life", which is sort of like an immortality potion?. The majority of the story is in the free mini-games called "Cube escape" and then the 3 paid for games give a lot more context. But the lake and cubes allow weird things to happen if you use them. The cubes alone are powerful artifacts as it were. This game is set much before the other games. Super extra spoiler so look away if you really don't want spoilers. When someone acquires this immortality, or at least a the temporary imperfect version, they become an animal person, where their head is an animal. However cause apart from once in the game, the elixirs are not "perfect" the effect eventually wears off. Additionally the imperfect elixir has a rather dangerous chance. Half the people who take it die instantly, some of them corrupting. The others become immortal animal people. Then there's the really trippy hard to explain stuff like how the lake sort of "hungers" for these memories and stuff. Oh and the plagues happening here are the Egyptian end time Plagues

This game is so entirely my vibe. Love how you always manage to play the spoopy titles! A gentle reminder to all that there are many youtubers for you that have memorized every puzzle on earth and grind games for perfect completion to go watch. We love Jesse taking his time to figure stuff out and being a good time during. (Also missing that one element in point and click games that takes you 7 years to figure out is like tradition from the flash era *Sighs in Gamershood room escapes*)

I have only played the free on-line games about this whole thing, and never watched a playthrough of the paid ones... I have the strangest feeling that these black cubes are, in fact, blackboxes of some description. They seem to convey information that they store, potentially memories? ...and the spectre said "Please bring my memories to the lake". This is getting to seem a lot like Roots, where we were rebuilding a person from the bodyparts of their descendants- OH SHIT. While the family contributed to the body, is the family in Paradise contributing MEMORIES to the deceased?!

Dude, if you're watching these videos to see people be good at this game, you gotta go elsewhere. Watching Jesse or Dodger get things wrong and *wrong* and *wrong* over and over again is sorta the point. It's a feature, not a bug, and you gotta just be chill with that. It's the price of entry.

Yes. I only watched cause he had more views than everyone else and it was just painful watching him do a few of these puzzles. He just clicks everything except what he had to click xD or he doesn't understand until a long, long time after.
