I think it's it really hard to find people making videos on KZbin that really understand custom bikes (especially Harleys) in Europe. But you two, in my opinion, are just what custom enthousiasts need ! Congratulations for your great work ! In this video, you gave me an information that i had never heard about... I am currently driving a Sportster 883 for my A2 licence (I love that bike), and I intend to get a 114 Street Bob now that i'm out of the A2 restrictions. But at the Harley Davidson dealership (I live in France), they did not talk about anything like "no stage 1" and "no exhaust"..... But actually, it seems to be true.... Still, I think that a "modern" engine like the 114 doesn't really need a stage 1 as bad as the old Evolution engine for instance. But, like every single Harley, it needs an exhaust !!!! But do you mean that we can't install an exhaust that is "euro 5 friendly"? Or is it also the case for pipes like Vance and Hines ? To be honest I don't really care about the european rules, so If I can use an empty tube it's fine by me, but I believe it could wreck the CO2 sensors..... (which also happens sometimes with Vance an Hines on euro 4 bikes)
@MrDarcy-OlMan3 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy! Very much appreciated! I think they will get round it but it’s unlikely to be ‘legal’ so pipes will probably have to be swapped back for the MOT test I guess

As an owner of the 20 Street Bob I'm happy that Harley made pretty big changes to the bike for 21 which is generating some buzz. Really good news since many KZbinrs included the Street bob in the list of bikes dropped in 21. Unlike most I think the best change was adding the passenger pegs. Nice to have if you upgrade the seat to a two-up. I don't think the 114 upgrade is as big a deal as others say. The 107 to me is a lot of power for this bike. The disadvantage of the 114 especially this year is that you need a tuner if you add even just slip ons. I just saw a video on this and it makes sense. Since these already come with a high input air cleaner it already has half of the stage one. This year is more of a problem since you have to use Harley's tuner. Additional $300 minimum

I actually test rode this bike today, same color, and wow! What a bike! That 114 is a monster! They wanted 17k here in Tulsa Oklahoma where I’m at? They said they can’t keep them in stock. I believe it since this one hadn’t even hit the showroom floor yet before I had my eye on it ....and my rear. The gears! Absolutely smooth like butter! Super smooth. Very smooth ride all the way around. Very smooth. Great engine! Just fantastic. The brakes were definitely a limitation of the bike. Downshifting felt strange at first until I got used to the shifter. The shifting is so smooth I actually wondered if it had changed gear a couple of times, but there is a gear indicator for that and a little, I repeat, little blip of the throttle will tell you anything you need to know about what gear you’re in. I almost traded in my 883 for it. But it just seems too pricey for me right now. Awesome, awesome, bike!

The standard, besides the 107 and paint job, also does not have the pillion and passenger pegs. Just get the street bob, it’s worth the extra considering what you get. That’s my absolute favorite Harley emblem on the side of that tank, no question! I have been in love with this bike since they unveiled it in January!
@MrDarcy-OlMan3 жыл бұрын
It’s a stunner for sure, and yes the graphics on the tank look awesome!
@deangullberry51483 жыл бұрын
If you're going to customize with chrome, get the standard. If you want to keep it blacked out, get the Street Bob. A crank shaft, splash of orange paint, and that crappy pillion aren't worth 4 grand.
@robbyclark69153 жыл бұрын
The 114 engine and the awesome paint job are absolutely WORTH the difference in price. Haven’t seen a 4K difference in price? Not between the street bob and the standard? You couldn’t swap out that 107 with a 114 and get that awesome paint job for even 4 thousand. I care very much what my bike looks like and that paint job is stunning as eff! The blacked out 114 is definitely worth paying more.

One of the main reasons you buy a cruiser is for the way it looks. The new Indian Chief is streets ahead. Much nicer frame and engine(one of the best looking m/c engines, ever), no "cheesey" tank graphics, no ugly mini-radiator between the downtubes, and no "afterthought" indicators hanging off the front bars. 116" Chief performance is also ever so slightly better.

I’ve got the 2021 Street Bob, a superb motorcycle. I owned a Yamaha XJR1300SP for almost 17 years with constantly having to lubricate the chain and a pretty clunky gearbox - no such problem with the Street Bob as it has belt drive and an extremely slick gearbox. I was extremely attached to that Yamaha but the Street Bob is far the better motorcycle for the ageing rider that I am with the bolt upright riding position for my problematic lower back. 😀

What do you mean you can't stage 1 it, it comes stock with a stage 1 filter. I have one and I recommend adjusting the rear brake pedal for more leverage, it helps slightly, the front brakes are grabby, adding a bung king crash bar looks cool and provides nice protection, wish the stock tank held more gas than 3.5 gallons, if you tend to get on it and wind it out when scootin' you'll be refilling a lot more often. I added V&H eliminator 300 slip ons to give it a nice sound and swapped the seat out which isn't terrible but I start dancing my butt around on the stock seat on long rides so opted for a saddlemen explorer, also if you're 190 lbs and 5'7 like me, you'll want to adjust the shock to 1 or 2 for a nice softer ride, at 3 setting you feel every pebble. My wish list is for a control placement that is between the mid and forward, that would make for a WAY more comfortable ride. For me anyway, the pegs begin to hurt my arches after about a 50 mile ride. Next upgraded needed for highway riding is a windshield for sure, but not a huge one to maintain the cool look of the bob

In the uk and Europe we have to comply with European emissions. this meant we have extra co2 sensors in the exhaust this year and a new cable body for the ecu. All the tuning companies had to make a stage 1 tune that was able to turn the sensors off to prevent the bike flashing up with errors every time you start the thing. They have now made a tune from diag 4 that solves this.

Great review guys . I test drove this model two weeks ago and really did enjoy it, especially the pick up which literally is like riding a horse that’s decided to break loose. I however found one really annoying thing that at slow speeds the steering of the bike was really heavy and difficult. In comparison the Low Rider S was a dream and the Heritage classic was much, much smoother . In the end I decided to order a Softail slim . Unfortunately I couldn’t test drive it because it’s sold out in Cologne and there’s a waiting list . Which brings me to a request , if you agents could review a Softail slim in the months ahead then I’m sure many would benefit but I sure would appreciate it 🙏🏼 🍻. Keep up the great work !

Thanks buddy. We found the steering fine. Maybe the front tyre was low on pressure. We really want to get the slim to review so hopefully it will happen soon

I seriously think I need something like this when I get my full license. Did a pretty long ride along highways and twisty roads on my 500 Rebel yesterday. And damn it gets uncomfortable after a few hours lol.

Yes the extra torque makes for relaxed motorway riding snd the size is better 👍🏼

What a great motorcycle...looks lovely in Black and orange 🍊. Actually there is not much more one would want from a cruiser for the British roads.... Thanks for the review. Bye Stuart 🙂

Realy nice bike esp with the new 114 on it. I could have saved alot off cash with this bike instead off the breakout when I think about it. I would change the handlebars to a more dragbar style. And about the ecu you can change and put on a pair off slip on exhaust for a start and as so long you dont change the stock airfilter it will be fine and the main thing most off want is a better sounding motorcykle. Could be a god thing the first two years not to tune it becouse HD will notice any changes in the ecu when your dealer connect it to the HDs server and flag the motorcykle/engine and end the warranty.
@MrDarcy-OlMan3 жыл бұрын
That’s very true a pair of slip ons would certainly suffice!

Awesome bike and review. It's a lot better looking than the Iron 883, in my opinion. That thing looks like a metalic bull. This looks more classic and elegant. The handlebar however looks a bit too high kinda like a bmx bicycle but other than that, it is beautiful.

As a previous Street Bob owner (2006) I prefer de Dyna version over the Softail. The more beefier and simplistic look of the Dyna is what in my opinion a Street Bob is al about. I am shocked to hear what it sounds like in this video, just like a Japanese bike. I absolutely dislike noisy and open pipes but couden't they make it a bit more sound like a Harley? Even my stock 2006 one sounded infinite better than what I hear now.
@MrDarcy-OlMan3 жыл бұрын
I’m afraid that’s all down to the regulations by the government and the eu. Nothing Harley can do about that, it’s the same with any new bike now! So some aftermarket pipes are even more essential now.
