Oh the nostalgia!! Takes me back to Panther Palace! I'd eat lunch there almost daily in High School, I'd eat and play Street Fighter, if I could get a quarter in the waiting queue. Always a line of them on the scrren frame. Good times.

I bought one and love it. I got 2 controllers too. I also got the 16000 hotline power bank, not sure if you seen the charge bank mini scale. Completes the look! There little keychain is so addictive!

Until this video, I wasn’t aware the quality of the product. But it’s obvious now that this cabinet isn’t just a cheap plastic toy. I was amazed to see that there is die cast metal used for the coin door. The $120 price tag may seem steep, but it’s definitely because of the quality put into it. Might be picking one up. I haven't understood peoples price complaints. I know I spent more at the arcades in 82/83. .25 in 1983 is the same as .65 now. Dragons Lair was 50 cents back then. So to have replicas so well done, I haven't seen a problem with the price..... I also remember handhelds back in the 80s like Pacman, Galaxian, etc, those ran about $60+ each. $60 back then is $158.

And by the way the best thing about the eighties was that when I was living in Lakewood California we had some very good pinball players and the girls there were very hard to beat in the tables and don’t forget about The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink.

Whoah, that's impressive! At first, I thought it was the My Arcade version but I don't know if that's out yet. It seems they put a LOT of attention to detail with this unit. The fact that you can hook up a USB controller to it is also a plus. I was always a fan of Street Fighter 2 and I prefer this one over the other Street Fighters any day. It's incredible how it holds up so well even to this day. Once I get my financial situation back on track, I will most certainly consider getting one of these in the future...well, if there's any left that is.

New Wave is doing some really good work on both these arcade units as well as other nostalgic peripherals (did you see the Walkman I reviewed?). I have high hopes for the My Arcade Premium SF2 that's coming soon, and if it's quality that may be a good alternative to this more expensive unit.

Maybe not as cool as the Replicade but yeah like you said, maybe it's a cheaper alternative. It's probably only gonna be one player, I don't think they'll have the additional controller. I think it'll be still cool though.

I'm actually on the fence for this machine, because I'm wondering if I should get this until, or wait until the My Arcade version comes out. The My Arcade version's smaller size would make it easier to carry around, and it looks like it has larger buttons, but it also doesn't have the Super version on it, and you also need to buy two units like the Contra machine for multiplayer.

That a really solid debate, Dragon. The My Arcade Premium look quite nice, but you've gotta buy two of them for multiplayer. But for single-player it is a cheaper and maybe better option. I'm eager to see for myself.

@@GenXGrownUp It also looks like the My Arcade version will also have a joystick with microswitches in it instead of the d-pad with joystick on top like we got with most of the other units, so it will be interesting how they pull that off. Another thing I'm also keeping my eye on is Replicade's Dragon's Lair, which also has a 1/6th scale laserdisc replica. Although I don't think you can fit it inside the machine.

Soooo many. SFII was what finally brought me out of my console drought. After my 2600 I'd switched to the Atari computer (and later Amiga), but the accuracy of the SNES SFII was so good it made me buy a used unit. Glad I did!

Heads-up the external controller support is a lil finicky on SF try to stick to Xbox one or ps3 pads unless you opt to buy a second one of the official replicade controllers.

I stumbled upon your channel and was introduced to all these mini arcades just about 6 months ago, so I missed out on buying one of these units when New Wave was selling them, and I've been trying to get my hands on one ever since. I've tried all the usual avenues (Ebay, Mercari, and other online places) without any luck. Do you happen to know of a community or reseller that might have one of these for sale? I know New is highly unlikely but I'd take Used no problem. Thanks

That is really nice, they really put a lot of effort into this. I would say $119 is definitely worth it. The 3/4 scale arcade cabinet would be nice to have around the house when you have guests around. One of my friends was a real expert with this game, he could beat everyone at the arcades. I was in high school when this game first came out, a lot of kids played this game in the arcades. Most people liked it, because they could play against other people. Street Fighter II was the first fighting game that created a new class of games which led to games, like Mortal Combat, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Soul Caliber, and others. Just like how Doom 3d was led to the 1st person shooter game genre.

Anything is moddable these days. The problem with Replicade is that they increase in value so rapidly that I'd be afraid to make changes that might diminish its value.

1. Not being able to drop the quarter into the slot is a miss - and kinda just makes those really just something else to stress getting lost, with no actual benefit. The satisfaction of the hearing quarter drop and the sound of the credit being awarded is a big part of the experience in my mind - certainly a differentiator when compared to the many other ways you can already play at home. 2. 1:6 scale is really getting to the outskirts of 'portable'. Certainly it COULD be taken from place-to-place, but these are a little bulky/heavy to be something you just take around with you to satisfy a game fix. 3. With the added controller, it would've been nice (although, probably cost prohibitive) to have some kind of video output - even just to allow for non-player viewing. 4. The add-on controller being a standard controller is nice, and really could be considered in that pricing comparison with the Arcade 1Up and other competitive units. 5. It's really a testament to how well you do these reviews that you identified the standard controller and are able to point out the details like the controlled shut-downs. As always, GREAT job.
