The beauty of Thailand is that there are literally tens of thousands of little roadside eateries all over the country... I eat at these places all the time... The wife and I can eat a meal for under $3.00 USD and it's delicious... Beware though if you don't like SPICY food, especially Som Tam...

Loved the story. Especially the discussion on the food and that you were at a real local restaurant. I can’t see myself getting bored if you do more of these. Already changed our holiday. Plans to get there as soon as things open up again. Thanks to you Paddy!

Thanks so much for this video! Saw this video in Samui and told my driver to come here with my mom even though we were second guessing how to get here. Saw the same dogs in the video! Ate the rice, the bbq meat, the hot pot and met the amazing mother and her sons cooking. The best place in Samui and the cheapest we ate at! What more could we want? Thanks so much Paddy!!!

Dont worry about the negative comments Paddy, these are the people who complain about their lunch and they made it. Its always good to see street food, its always pretty good and cheap. Keep up the good work. It will be interesting to see if Miss P goes on the road with you, it would add another level to the videos.

I, for one, really appreciate the constant flow of content you are posting. Sure, not every video blows my mind, but given the extremely limited circumstances you're working with, I think you're doing a great job of keeping your audience engaged. We are all anxious to get back to touring the provinces, but until things start to improve there I'm sure the majority of your viewers will be happy to get these little Samui snippets.

Loved this one. I love spicy Thai Street food so could relate to this and the price 390 baht - incredible. Mark Wiens eat your heart out, Paddy Doyle is the man, minus those extraordinary facial expressions. Oh and Paddy don't let the antagonists get to you pal. Sidequests is a brilliant idea with the forced restrictions and I've enjoyed every single one. Anybody that has followed you from the start is on this adventure with you and no doubt will hang in there for the long haul whatever the Thai Government comes up with. Keep that chin up and have fun :)

I love the capitalistic freedom here in Thailand. If you make good meatballs, set up a table and sell them right in front of your house. If you make good noodle soup, set out a few tables and chairs, and you have a roadside restaurant. And it's like everybody and their grandma got the same recipe because the cooking of traditional dishes is surprisingly consistent wherever you go.

HILARIUOUS....Farang doing real Isaan food for the 1st time maybe..... My 1st experience of Thailand was 3 weeks in an Isaan villiage eating food and drinking Lau Khao / Hong Tong with the locals during songkran...no shops around and no transport so I had no choice but to eat whatever I was given..... Each plate of food was 40-50% chilli... I had no drinking water - only Leo so you can imagine how my stomach handled it......There wasn't always running water for the toilet!.... The food displayed are some of my very favourite foods anywhere ever.....One of the real reasons why I would love to try life in Thailand... I miss the ease of access to the most wonderful food in the world.. Thanks.....
