I just got back from spending three months in Nanning, China. I've had almost all these foods haha, everything is so cheap its super sick. China's rad, have fun and learn some chinese while you're there

We have that bread here in Indonesia, too. We call it cakwe (pronounce as ‘chuck-way’) Quite popular street food, we eat it with sweet sauce.

The sticky rice thing is called sticky rice roll in Chinese, very literal. It is very good! The crunchy thing isn’t break, it’s the same thing as what you you had later, called Youtiao in Chinese, also known as Chinese donut. You can get them here in the states too. The orange thing is egg yellow.

In Chinese, when a person is analogized as an "old you tiao" (老油条), it means he/she is a seasoned smooth talking, insincere or dishonest, old slimy fox kind of character.

nice video!!! love it !!! but just kind reminder that , do not drink tap water, wash every fruit/vegetable or just peel the out layer skin of that, cause there is residual pesticides or fertilizer on skin which you probably do not wanna have it . because i see you directly bite the mango and the apple? wish you have a good time in shanghai!!!

I agree with you. Whenever you go to other country, please stay near the local area. That is the gem. I don't get it why people want to go to modern place(high building/casino/etc), mall, etc. Local's foods are the best.

They aren't spices, they look like pickled vegetables to me, they're called 'zha cai' (jya tsai) usually eaten with congee, but can also work as a seasoning.

"You Tiao" is deep fried dough. I would not say it is just like bread, unless you deep fry it. Not very healthy, but people eat it with rice congee or soy milk.
