Sat in Silence for a few minutes to take in some of the best jazz I've heard since being a little boy listening to Dizzy and James and Dennis Brown, feeling this kind of commitment and freedom in a peace is rare, not being afraid to make mistakes and smile, is music on an emotional level where only music can go. Well done to all involved. Still amazing every-time i see it.

The lyrics are kind of odd for a youth orchestra, but a great rendition of this classic! Nice arrangement and super funky performance. A lot of credit for that goes to Ms. Renold because the bass is a key part of the feel. And singing at the same time, fantastic! Great recovery on that outgoing verse, by the way, been there...

Billy Cobham is the ultimate 'catch' for this jazz orchestra (in the ensemble, Neil Jason would fit a rather distant second place, IMO). When any educated conversation comes up about the best drummer of all time for any range of genres, Billy Cobham's name is one of the first if not the first to come up. He has played with 'everybody', i.e. Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, + + ! If you want to be dazzled by technique (and stamina), try early Mahavishnu. If you want to be spellbound by impeccable taste (and timing), try early Deodato. This orchestra's live set includes Red Baron which, along with Stratus, would be Cobham's best known compositions. He also wrote Crosswinds which this orchestra plays.
