Even though I loved the 5D classic such as the overall feel + the images etc, it failed on me once. Just like you my mirror fell out in the middle of a wedding a few years back, but thankfully I had a second body to continue shooting. After that I stopped fully trusting the 5D classic build quality and have not used it since. Besides that hiccup, I do love everything else. And even if some do consider it to be an "old banger" and a toy, lets agree with these critics for once... yes it IS an old banger ... but the critics might overlook the simple fact that it's actually a VERY GOOD old banger for the money you pay today. I somehow also like that it felt "genuine" when I used it... not sure why I feel like that since it let me down in a middle of a job ;)

Old 5D's never die... great to see it's firing again! I have to say, the 100mm is my favorite lens - (I don't have the macro one, just the 100mm f2). Nicely sharp optics.

I always enjoy your "Street Photo Diary" videos and this is no exception. It would seem that your repair has returned the 5D back to work. I always like seeing the "slice of life" images that you make when you are out with your camera. Please keep it up.

Hello Thomas . How did you setup please the Canon 5d classic (jpeg format, picture style, etc....) ? Maybe also a short video about it please ? In which program mode take you normally your pictures with and without flash ? Do you use ETTR method (expose to the right) ? Thx

Raw + JPEG (I only really use the raw) standard picture profile - shooting in aperture priority - with exposure compensation when necessary. I don’t use a flash normally when outside. Only if doing portraits etc but not for street shooting

I shoot RAW + Medium JPG with sharpening turned up all the way in camera to make it a little easier to check focus. Since the colors are a big part of why I love this camera, I usually turn up the saturation all the way. If it's sunny I turn down the contrast and if it's cloudy I turn the color tone to the left to warm up the images (in Picture Styles). With these settings, I usually need zero post-processing. This camera allows me to do more of what I love (shooting) and less of what I hate (staring at a computer).

I use a usb memory card reader and import straight into lightroom.
