Appreciate that mate, really glad it was useful for you!!! I really can’t say enough on the 50mm 1.2, it’s always my go to. Such a great lens. I’d say there is a noticeable difference to the 1.8 in terms of the image quality but it does really depend what you’re using it for. If you’re someone who shoots a lot at 50mm and going to get lots of use out of it, I’d say it might be worth saving! Definitely a big investment though $$$

@@TKNORTH defo a big investment haha, it costs about as much as the camera body itself hahah. 50mm is defo a focal length i use a lot with zooms, and my first prime that I got recently is a vintage Helios 44-2 which is 58mm and is a very nice focal length so if I ever need a faster lens I’d save up for that probably, though it’d take a while. The bokeh on it is surprisingly interesting and characterful for a modern lens, plenty of cats eyes in the corners, which I really like (hence the Helios).

New AI denoise in lightroom works like magic on high ISO files. I shoot any ISO I need and do not bother anymore. Before AI noise reduction was terrible. Nice video 👌

Thanks so much!! That's actually a decent idea. I know a lot of people jumping over to log from shooting photos get stuck just using the exposure meter, then exposing how you would for stills - certainly a mistake I think I made a lot in the beginning!

I casually shoot on a micro four thirds and have had it for years. I felt the need to step up to something more capable, so I just ordered a new R6II from Canon yesterday since they're having a crazy sale. I got it for sub $2k USD (body only), which I thought was a steal and after finding this video, I have no regrets in my decision. I enjoy street photography and your style is beautiful and is exactly what I aspire to. Now I just need to decide on a first lens.

Haha that’s a tricky one! As they are all designed for different things 😂 the ones from this video I’m using the most currently but that’s heavily favouring street photos! Let me know if you need any more help with them though 🙂

If the R6mk2 file size is too bit, then you need to check R7's. Sometimes I get 28MB files 😅 Nice video, though!

Heya! If leaning more towards photo, I'd probably say the R6II. If leaning more towards video then probably the R5, just has a few more options. Hope that's helpful :)

As a Canon user not having used either camera, I would say Sony A7iv as you have more megapixels plus more choice of quality third party glass. However if you are already invested in Canon then stick with Canon.

Do you shoot in full screen AF mode? Whats the best way to lock on focus on your desired subject? Touch the subject and it should lock to that specific subject?. Also do you shoot in RAW or CRAW?
