I love your insight and tips for photography. Love how you capture a moment, an expression on someone's face and we the viewers are left wondering what their story is. Keep up the great work!

I guess it's who you watch on street photography on UTube to agree if they're rubbish or not. Glad you didn't mention names. You make a good point to add something quirky, humourous, different, to add a point of interest. Cheers

I would never name anyone, it's more the style of pointless photo that we see everywhere more than anything. Thanks David.

I've just discovered your channel and subscribed. I like your style of video. I agree that some street photography images can seem pointless. I have to feel that there's some reason in my mind for taking a particular photo otherwise I don't even enjoy taking it. That's not to say it'll be a good image, or even one I'll keep, but if there's a reason for taking it that's good enough. I also try to give myself an assignment when going out, at least some of the time. Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Loved the BTS set, wish we’d had those sort of memories. Totally agree about “documentary” images. My last time out doing that sort of thing saw so many frames discarded because of a lack of intrigue or interest. Only a few made the cut for exactly the reason you explained. Thoroughly enjoyed this one and the teapot and boat strangers illustrated your point beautifully 😊👍🏻

Thanks Dave, I think "street photography" is harder than some make out, to find something interesting enough to shoot and share. But the challenge is certainly fun. 🙂

An array of stunning photos I especially like the first boat video. I think this is one of your best videos P.s I photographed a friend's wedding. It's a lot of pressure and I kept thinking I just wanna get shitfaced like all the other guests

The hit rate ratio is definitely a lot lower for street than landscape. I feel it takes a lot more for a street photo to stand out, capturing that candid/key moment being the most important . I agree though, there is a lot of crap on YT but also some good content, takes time to filter through. Interesting to see one of the boat shots with people still looking at their phones. Why?

Agree, lots of time is required walking around to find something interesting and unique. I do enjoy some nice architecture and street scenes, but people will say that's not proper street photography. Re: people taking time and money to go on a boat tour in a very scenic medieval city, and look at their phone... crazy!

Agree there needs to be a point of interest. Lots of others just snap nothing street shots, no real skill required

I must admit I do that myself sometimes, although I rarely share them on social media and bore people. 🙂

Canterbury looks like a pretty place. I think I'd much rather wander around there than some shiny, big city. Street photography is a bit hit and miss, I think. It can come across as a bit sterile. I've never been a fan of trendy London types sitting around at expensive street cafes. And I think the technical perfection of the image can detract from it too.

Canterbury is pretty neville, but very busy, under a lot of construction, I had very little time to really get into a personal photo project really. Will have to return. Getting good street photos is very hit and miss, it takes a lot of time walking around to get interesting photos. Like your point about technical perfection, that's a good topic of conversation actually. Cheers!
