The decline in attendance towards 2014 may also have to do with the fact that Sweden went through its own version of the CART-IRL split. In 2012, four top teams split off the STCC, to form their own Silhouette-based series. That series took over STCC in 2013, so the split was at least resolved quickly. But it did serious long-term damage. For example, the final season with the Silhouette regs only featured around 10 cars. I think this topic deserves its own video. The split back then was a hot topic among touring car fans, but newer fans probably may not have heard of such a split at all.

I don't remember if the track was built to be 100% accurate, but driving it in Race 07 back in the day with the STCC addon it felt wider than the actual track, and more forgiving, a trait shared by, of all tracks, Marrakesh odly enough EDIT: Race. Not Rave, though some of the AI were driving on some tracks like they were on something alright, looking at you Pau in the rain...also man I did not know R07 was so popular

One of the best sim racing games in which you do offline racing. I remember that I modified the field with 2 Radical prototype classes and 2 Touring Car classes; and the result was choatic!

Fun fact, 1:03 here in the list you can see a member of the Swedish royal family, Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte, the duke of Värmland (where Rally Sweden was held until a couple years ago when it had to be moved further north to Umeå due to lack of snow). He is an avid motorsport enthusiast and driver both in STCC and Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia.

This one of those Race 07 tracks that I was convinced was a fever dream that I've never been able to forget. Lots of such tracks in that game. Thinking I might reinstall it tonight.

This track gives out vibes of those tracks you'd see in arcade racing games especially the sudden switch of scenery of a harbor dock to urban streets and more industrial areas.

This track was perfect for FE.....in the early years. Now it's no longer possible. But if we look at Google Earth there is still room for an expansion of the track to today's FE standards. It would be a good option for Sweden to host this series!!

Heyy TyDye could you take a look at the spanish street track of Alcañiz, it hosted the Spanish Touring Car Championship. It was located in a very narrow and small town in Aragón, a very curious track. Love your videos! Merry Christmas!

Not every day you see a Swedish track on here. Hope Helsingborg won't follow in Göteborg's tracks next year, when they'll have a street track on STCC's calendar. Although, understandable that this track is on here. At the same spot, they used to have a music (metal) festival there, was way better suited for such a thing.

I live near Montréal, so yeh, Montréal when Formula E came in 2017. I loved the event, I even volunteered at the FIA scrutineering tent and brought the cars back to their teams after inspection. The weakest thing was, like some other tracks, communication and transparency with citizens, and that probably caused the then-mayor, Denis Coderre, to lose at the following year's election. If you intend to make a video about Montréal FE, just let me know I'll let you know several things I got to see and live from pretty close perspectives. Keep your awesome work up man!

Speaking about people watching the race on a bridge, on Jarama theres a bridge a few meters after the T1 runoff ends and many people just go to that bridge and sit there ro watch the race. It's honestly a good place to watch the track, specially as you have a great straight view of the main straight and T1 braking, and the European Truck Champioship race is the biggest race of the year in Jarama, you can imagine the sights they can get lmao

One big problem with this race was the decrease of interest for the series. They had a small split and then a big decline in viewership. This might be one big cause for the ending of this event. Thank you for the video and by including STCC

Never played Race 07 and the STCC add ons, but i play a lot GTR2 who have all the stuff from R07 converted for download, including this track and the cars. The WTCC and STCC cars in GTR2 are quite fun.
