Glad you mentioned the lack of tracks in Cali... Believe it or not, at one point LA had about 30 quarter mile dragstrips. Now, zero - they all closed. Except Pomona, which doesn't do events for the masses, only two NHRA events per year and that's it (due to noise regulations).

Taking a GTR which is designed from the ground up to be a track car and try and make it into a drag car seems like there are a ton of better platforms to start with. All the tech into the whole chassis and drivetrain seems like he’s gotten rid of all the stuff that makes a gtr a gtr. He could have started with a z car and sapped the vr38 Into it. I guess since he started with it as a street car maybe he decided to keep going with the same car. Maybe I have the benefit of hindsight in his case but once I knew I needed to take out the awd, the trans, and change the whole front end then he could have sold it and did what the guy with the Supra did and build a custom chassis that “looks” like a steet car.

glad they realise the great events lowered the amount of street races . a positive impact. the more dragstrips and tracks the world would have the more stupid it would be to take risks on the street. i live in belgium and the closest drag strip is santa pod . the closest track is zolder , spa , croix en ternois or nurburgring are all multiple hours away

I live in Florida and I prefer street racing and this is why, I’m not going to pay $30 for a test and tune and get 3 runs in, my car isn’t fast enough to do competition racing, I can spend the same amount on gas and go out to the street because it’s later at night too which is easier to make it to then getting to the track late and only getting maybe 1 run in

Anything 2013 or newer can run a 9.0@149.99 with no bar or cage. Must retain stock chassis and firewall. All you will need is one run at the track faster than 10.0 or quicker to get a street car license.and the track manager needs to sign-off on it. Real easy.

Lebanon Valley is was my home track also, and one of the biggest problems there, is they don't pay out very well at all, and they are a pain in the neck with tech still, even with the new rules from the NHRA. It's really a shame, I hope that track doesn't shut down like all the others

3.2L 2JZ VS 4.3L VR38, the highest engine dyno numbers I've heard of from a 2j is 3400~ and vr38 3600~, considering the 1.1L bigger displacement the HP per litre goes to the 2j, this is all from what I've heard, there could be higher figures out there.
