Sorry I misspoke a little toward the end… I’m thinking the new 6th Gen 4Runner TRD Pro will be $68-70K… since the new Tacoma TRD Pro will be over $65K. The 4Runner is generally just a little more… crazy.

I got almost everything the TRD package offered except for the decals, which I’ve never been a fan of. I paid $32,500 and thought that was a bit steep. Ain’t no way I’d pay almost double that for a turbo four with a battery pack.

Mexico has 42 car makers in the country with around 500 different models being produced there. Its one of the best industries for automotive manufacturing. Whats wrong with that? I understand the sentiment due to less jobs in the USA but offshoring has been ongoing for decades. Newsflash, Toyota is not the only car manufacturer moving their assembly lines to Mexico. Companies like BMW, Ford, Teslas have all done this. Offshoring to Mexico was primarily triggered by the tariffs on China.

Hey Untamed, I just test drove a 2024 Tacoma trd off road today and other than the new 8 speed gearbox, I wasn’t impressed. The initial throttle response (low range) was impressive but when I floored the throttle to get on the freeway, I wasn’t impressed compared to the 3rd gen V6 powerband. Noticed the cheapness of the interior with more cheap plastic than the previous gen Tacoma. The hood I could see vibrate on the rear of the hood closest to the windshield on the drivers side and again, the truck literally felt like a four cylinder that was out of juice when I got on it at freeway speeds. I know advocates like TRDJon, robmotive, and the TFE crew (among others) rant and rave about how infinitely superior it is to the “old gen” 3rd gen Tacoma but I’m not feeling or agreeing with their enthusiasm about this new platform. I guess I’m not drinking the same Toyota Kool-aid as they are, nor am I politically obligated to the Toyota higher ups as well. Love my 2022 3rd gen TRD PRO Tacoma and maybe I’d change my tune if they dropped the price(s) to a realistic MSRP but I know I’d be drinking the Toyota “Kool-aid” ad well. 😳

That's why you need to stop buying a truck if you only go to work in a nice air-conditioned office. sitting in a nice chair. A truck is meant for farmers, miners, tradesmen, mechanics, plumbers, etc. It is for people who need it not for people who just want a truck just because they got money

The thing that floored me is that on a loaded TRDOR you get a little plastic skidplate in the front and a temporary spare tire.

I still have the original window sticker for my 2003 V8 4runner limited 4x4 ($40,400). That's the equivalent of nearly $69k today. So prices aren't totally out of whack. Rather, the build quality and materials have declined

We went out to try and trade for a Tacoma TRD Offroad and none of the dealers were willing to move on price. After seeing a 53k one in person, it's crazy how expensive they are for so few options. You have to go for the 56-58k mark to get the features you'd expect around 50k

Yup that tfL Tacoma broken axle spoke volumes. Overprice and unreliable- I’ll pass and stick with my 4R lunar rock TRD pro 21 with the untamed starter kit- WD k02 285’s. It’s the best

It is all about the motor for me. I want a V6 not a turbo 4 cylinder. Made in Mexico is not a selling point. The frame rusting issue from Toyota is still fresh in my mind. Toyota needs to rethink who the customer is.

Toyota really took a big shit on its customers. With the Ram RHO coming in at $69,995 why would you get a mid size TRD Pro when you can get a full size with much more capability

Not saying the Tacoma price is reasonable but let’s face it - anyone who values quality would take the Tacoma - it will run circles around the for 20 years. Rams have by far the worst quality on the market.

I don't know how most states calculate excise tax but in Maine, the excise tax is based on MSRP. So MSRPs need to come down for people in Maine. Incentives only help at point of sale. We are stuck with a higher excise tax for life because of the MSRP. So screw incentives, drop MSRPs.
