Had a volvo 740 intercooler in it, press bent cooler pipes, an extra injector wired in, 3" exhaust, and a simple boost tap at 15psi. I raced and raced and raced that thing trying for a 12. I eventually got there, running a 12.8 @ 108. That is awesome. I had the same issue with my old IS350. Changed to 17 inch 235/40 AR1 Nangkangs and took two tenths off the 1/8 mile. The smaller diameter helped. Haters are going to hate sadly and for those hating on Supermang they are just basing their info on a typical stock bogadore v6 well she isn't standard for starters. The old v6 buick's have great potential in themselves to go harder with some mods not much effort as you know for well and I know Supermang has great potential plus there are a plethora of mods that you haven't done to her either and the engine isn't exactly what I would consider run in and once you add the inter cooler that will make a improvement for sure as you know at heart I am a Ford man but I have a fondness for the VN's and other legendary Holdens pre VN up till VZ. Supermang certainly brings back nostalgia of my step dads same red vn commodore certainly a good condition VN is like a aged fine wine it is still a sexy car but I know once you do more mods to it I am a positive thinker and I reckon she will one day see in the 11's I am eagerly awaiting to see the stroker engine but still I think the 3.8 configuration will do it I have seen some impressive v6 ecotechs with turbos and they go hard but again you need money a lot of patience keep at it prove those hater wrong.... Lastly I have to say those pre drag burnouts were impressive unlike the attempted limiter bashing feigns in my area their burnouts are honestly weak you can see Supermang has a torquey engine. Before i retired from the auto industry I used to specialize in Falcons and Commodores I know you have the knowledge and experience plus the backing of some great performance experts behind you so fingers crossed.

You can hear how much better it runs through the gears on streets. What's the specs of the radials? If it drove through the rpm with the same difference between the radials and the street tyres now again but with the traction it'll mean business.

Scotty, "dont" cut the bonnet, it'll spoil the car, simply fit the appropriate thickness spacers between the chassis rails and the K member to buy you the necessary space to fit the intercoolerunder the bonnet. It dosn't change the ride hight however it slightly changes the roll centres but i bet you can't tell driving it. The only hassle is the intermitent shaft will need some fiddling , depending on the thickness of the spacer there is some wiggle room on the splines
@DodgyBrothersEngineering3 жыл бұрын
The centre joint may need to be spaced down also. But then is anything going to foul the steering shaft etc etc.
@craigritchie19333 жыл бұрын
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering When you move the K member down everthing moves as one , the intermediate shaft ends up in a more vertical position than standard, my club level VS has the engine lowered by 40mm however to go that far i had to get creative. Ive also done this mod to a VB V8 to run a single plane manifold without having to cut a hole in the bonnet. My VS club car also has the engine moved back 100mm so the front half of the tailshaft has 100mm cut out of it , with some longer bolts and a couple of spaces in the centre bearing support the tailshaft has no vibration issues. The change in roll centres hasn't stopped the car from constantly winning its class in Autocross.

The 12s are there Scotty change the gears to say 3:23 or3:45 set. Have the Headlight out. It's there
@STREETMACHINETV3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think I'll go 3.45
@vr3503 жыл бұрын
Go 3.7s they are the best ratio for these engines esp if running drag radials.

@@vr350 I would if we were going to stay blower long term but Telf is keen for me to turbo it so 3.45 is the best compromise
@vr3503 жыл бұрын
@@STREETMACHINETV Forgot your going turbo. Yeh even 3.45 would be better. Dont be scared of the intake temps just send it. Some guys have gone 2.42" pulleys which imo is too much. I found 2.55" was it and tapped out at 220rwkw due to the heat. Prob is to run a decent cooler and mods to the sc you gotta start cutting stuff. Going a thin w2a plate doesnt work they cant pull the heat out. Best stytem is the mace a2a plate with w2a cooler hybrid setup.
