You missed the hidden extra lives! Bottom left corner of very first screen, top left corner when you get out of the truck on stage 2 and under the dragon head you fight on stage 3.

You have to press UP+C when someone throws you, that way you will land on feet without taking damage. This works in sor 1 ant 3 too!

They also missed most of the moves the throws knee strikes alt combos etc but i think this was just about playing the game

We won't get every hidden item, we won't do every move, this is not to show off our M4D SKILLZ, etc. But we're always happy to hear about things we could do that we didn't know about. If we did know half of the things people are telling us, this game would be a complete cakewalk I think.

Agreed, they play off each other better as well. Probably because James is such a quiet dude outside of his character and the Sacks are both more energetic, if you will.

I was a nerd guy before, enjoyed both James and Mike Mondays and Playing With Sacks. but I prefer sacks now and I can't tell exactly why... probably J&M's a little off the gaming topic and (James's gaming skill's not so good comparing with Joe and Dave? lol)

James is a father and more of a movie nerd, I think he loves his videostore a lot, board james was a nice series, I like they are doing new things. the nerd videos got a bit more tame because he didn't want his daughter to see all her dad does is being a foulmouth. I mostly watch it because I like James & Mike, Mike luckely knows he's an ass ( he should get some more sleep) and James just likes to relive his childhood I guess. For gaming history and trivia I advice to check out Larry Bundy jr. and Daniel Ibbertson's vids they are in depth and very informative about their subjects and you gotta love their brittish accents. ( I do not get paid for this plug I just want them to gain more views)

I'm so glad this game was the pack-in with my Genesis back in the day. It was probably one of my most played games growing up and might've been my favorite game of that whole generation. And the wrestler with facepaint you were thinking of was Ultimate Warrior.

Love the streets of rage series, You should try the remake from bomber games, it has the same gameplay as SOR2 and 3 but has every single stage from all 3 games in it and some game gear levels, some cut scenes, unlocks, boss and enemy rush modes, and you can play the bosses.

Hahha I meant Dave since I’m a “Nintendo Fandude” but like Dave said a couple episodes ago.. I should’ve killed him long ago so I could’ve enjoyed so many awesome more games on other systems! I felt like such a traitor when I bought a Sega Dreamcast in 2000 only because Castlevania was coming out on it... then the Frikin game got cancelled ... I felt like a cheap.....fill in the blank

Quite arguably the best beat 'em up ever made. I'm an AvP Arcade man myself, but this game is certainly peak performance of the genre. I eagerly await Watermelon Team's Paprium to revitalize my Genesis.

I agree. There's a short list of games I consider to be the very best beat'em ups....SoR2, turtles in time, AvP, and Guardian Heroes. There's more great ones, but those are my votes.

Nah, SoR2 is a good game, but overrated as hell. It`s a generic beat em up game well executed. But there are plenty beat em up games that to the same thing and better. You named one.

When I used to play this as a kid, we all used to think Axel was saying "Grab the powah!" and Blaze's was, "It's your daughter!". Absolutely classic game, probably my favourite on the Genesis. I have played through this game more than any other in my life I think. Awesome music, awesome graphics and the combat just feels amazing. Something I think isn't discussed enough about beat 'em ups is the "feel". Every hit feels like it has so much weight and impact, like when you connect there is a little delay just to let it sink in, even on the most basic jab, and the sound effects are awesome. This is why I think the SOR3 is nowhere near as satisfying, the attacks just feel like weak little slaps in comparison to what's going on here. And we can all agree the soundtrack is just pure brilliance.

Guys you play it wrong. You need to interrupt your own combo in order to inflict more damage and keep the enemy stunned. Just finish your combo when it will also finishes the enemy or to avoid to risk to get hit by another enemy.

Joe it looked like you didn't hit the special (A) button once all game! Dragon punch clearing attack is a great clear out move when you have enemies front and back, and if you hit the other Axel punch combo special it takes a lot of enemy damage. Also when I play I grapple more to do the throws, when there's a group of enemies, it's great to launch one into the group and damage all of them. Always loved Skate's move if you front grapple, flip (jump) over, then attack from behind, he gets up on their shoulders and rains down a series of punches. Skate also has a great jumping special attack called the screwdriver or something like that, and if you double tap a direction to make him run then attack he does this useful headbutt move that pushes enemeies back to the far ends of screens. Grew up with this game, good to see you guys feature this and Alien Storm. How about Toejam & Earl sometime in anticipation of the new one? Lemmings 2 player and Altered Beast would also be good ones.

Blaze is my favorite character so its awesome you used her. Since you mentioned it at the start do you prefer the Streets of Rage title or Bare Knuckle? Awesome run guys, these videos are always fun to watch. Love how you are not only good at the games you play but the commentary is funny too, you guys are just so relaxed whem you do a playthrough. Hope you keep making the series and some titles I hope to see in the future are ALTERED BEAST, the remaining SoR games, HYPERSTONE HEIST, ALIEN SYNDROME, DINOSAURS FOR HIRE, FORGOTTEN WORLDS, and some solo games like MOONWALKER, MYSTIC DEFENDER, JEWEL MASTER, SPLATTERHOUSE 2 & 3, and of course the SHINOBI games.

Much prefer the name Streets of Rage. Just sounds so much cooler. Sounds like a movie title. Bare Knuckle sounds more like a song title. Both are good but I just like Streets of Rage more. Also the Streets of Rage logo is much nicer than the Bare Knuckle logo. Surprised Sega of America didn't screw that up to hell and back somehow.

@@GameSack Haha agreed. One of my childhood friends argued with me all the time that Bare Knuckle was a better title and they should have used it. I always felt SoR just sounded better, sounded more dire and had more umph behind it, like you said a movie title or even a TV show title.
