@Tig Bitties I mean if you look at the timeline Skate isn't younger than his niece. The game take place in the early 90's 1991 to be exact. Adam, Blaze, and Axel was in their early 20's when the 1st game came out. The 2nd game takes place one year later. Skate was already born and ready to be introduced. There's no way Cherry could have been born before skate. Adam couldn't produce a baby at 10 years old, when Adam and Skate are at least 7 years apart in age.

There was a vectorman reboot that was unfortunately cancelled in 2004, and Sega did make some Shinobi games, the last one was in 2011 for 3ds

Read a book called The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers, featuring lots of interviews and insights into the Japanese game development scene, including Yuzo Koshiro. He said that SoR was a hit in the US, and not in Japan, so the sequels were especially aimed at the US market. The third one didn't do as well as expected, so the fourth installment came to a halt. Once they decided to commence development again (by the Japanese team), Sega of America told that the US market is currently not interested in any beat 'em ups. The End.

Doesn't anyone think it's odd that the hero characters are pixelated and everything else isn't? It seems like this was a clash of design styles. The developers wanted to do their own art style but threw in the old-school sprites as a half measure to please fans. I wish the whole game would have been developed in that style.

I think they said if playing with multiple characters, they scale the damage to make it harder, fairer. I'm guessing he does a lot more in singles

I love the small attention tondeyaik they show on the pixel characters when moving along the levels. Like how the lighting shines off them when the go around lighted areas as well as the shadows and in between.
