I wasn't the biggest fan of SOR3, the difficulty spike was crazy, and the move from the amazing bumpy house music of the first two games to a more techno focus soundtrack really disappointed me. I know from a technical stand point SOR1 is lacking compared to the rest of the franchise, but SOR1 was truly the first time I felt like I had an arcade quality experience in my own home, and for that reason it has to be higher than SOR4 for me.

@@Cookie_Cutter_Creep I would recommend people to look at Nevermore1414 videos he managed to do full combos with every characters, so did Waternar for me though the videos I enjoyed the most were Blaze being played by Badmoon or by Rilsy, they both go for speedruns and the fights are so fluid, every movement is carefully thought through and prepared in advanced, it is like listening and seeing an exquisite melody played on screen

I wonder if Streets of Rage Revolution will be a proper sequel to SoR4 or a spinoff of sorts. Being the first 3D game is quite the change, so maybe they didn't name it SoR5 to keep the possibility of a proper 2D sidescroller sequel to SoR4 in the future.

I actually love the art style for some reason. I dropped out of gaming for some time, due to lack of time and some other issues in life. A friend of mine had this on xbox one when it first came out and I played it with him and the next day I bought an xbox one just to play this game. It got me back into gaming on a semi regular basis. Love the game although I haven't mastered it as well as I did with number 2. I'll definitely go back to it.

I follow at least one or two of the artists on Twitter, and always love how people re-invent music that both reminds people of the previous games, as well as makes something new! Now after saying all that... I haven't gotten around to buying it yet, as I have a couple other beat-em-ups that I haven't even touched yet.

I never ever thought streets for was ever going to happen after playing 3 long long time ago on the elementary school and what I heard about for and dug into the history of what's going on for it to become possible it is truly amazing. SOR4 was my first in the series even though I grew up in the Genesis era, it is very satisfying! The closest I played in the 90s was Fighting Force.

my favourite new beat them up are Dragon's Crown, River City Girls, and Phantom Breakers. Sections of the Neir Automaton were very close to beat them up type game play too though it did a lot of different genres. Street of Rage 4 and TMNT Shredder's Revenge were the best of the beat them ups of all time.

I did work on a pitch demo back in 2007 for "sor4" that was shown to Sega, prior to this game's release that look exactly like this art style.💯 I worked on producing the demo's soundtrack. We borrowed heavily from Sor2 & 3.

The art style looks more lare 90s comic and less anime to me personally. I think it fits the game overall to be honest. Probably wouldn't have been my first choice but I also don't dislike it at all. Kind of reminds me of Comix Zone especially with the shirt tied around the waist on Axel. The exception being the Y twins, they look and move very anime. Mr. Y looks like Soma Cruz from Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

SOR4 is awesome and I was so happy they didn't screw it up. I wish the same team could do a Splatterhouse 4 and bring it back to its roots and greatness. I was not a fan of the direction they took with Splatterhouse 2011 stylistically, or the Heavy Metal music.

Roo IS selectable with a code. SOR 3 only, but still. I 've waited so long to play as Adam that I am 90% of the time playing as him. The rest is SoR 1 Adam or SOR 4 Max.

I see your point but actually I think it boosted the community that played the game. It was a big challenge for a couple of years to see who would be the one who would manage to do a full combo on mania and then mania + Nowadays, Nevermore1414 managed to do the 12 stages in arcade mode without ever being touched and with a full combo (almost) every stages. That is quite impressive to see. That and speedruns are a whole new level of players

Streets of rage 4 was what I was telling my chick when playing and having her learn about the old school versions before the new one came out. I told her wouldn't it be awesome if they put an hour days technologies into a 2D beat em up?! The crazy part is they actually did it a year at later and kept making them including the notorious TMNT Shredder's revenge. Got a hold of the company and inspired them to work on X-Men immediately after they finished TMNT. Then highly suggested they should do Power Rangers, Tribute games that is.

Well, you didn't but if you want to talk about those or the community that kept improving until they managed to make full combos on the 12 stages, the speedruns world records or the modders, there is plenty to talk about for a future video. Also, if you had the opportunity to get more infos on Dotemu, Guard Crush and Lizardcube futur and upcoming games it would also be great (they don't communicate very much on the social medias I am on)

I found this game good, but the downer for me are that the levels are too short and boring, not enough selection of bad characters in the stages, not big enough selection of bosses and the game ended too soon. with only 12 short stages.

I didn't really like the ost. It sounded like a compilation album without a singular vision. The DLC with Tee Lopes sounded as good or better than Yuzo's classics & I'd like to see a new SOR with just Tee Lopes or Tee, Yuzo & Kawashima so they could work with a single motif that gets expanded on throughout the whole game like SOR1-3 did.

Only to watch your video and realise that the special move you can do can also not deplete your energy bar if you fight fast enough after......doh now it seems a bit more fluid after giving it another go. most of the unlockables i know about ive been there. thanks to emulators and the power of the internet ive played them all and used cheats for all the games. so seeing the cheats for streets of rage 4 are nothing new. the cheats / unlockables i would say are aimed at todays young gerneration of gamers
