One of the cheapest local night markets I have ever visited. A secret market known only to the locals, just 15 mins drive from Bangkok downtown and you will be amazed at the size of the market. There are so many things to see and try in a night with super cheap prices. So if you are looking for another level of market experience, and see what local people really eat and buy, come check Sai Tai Centre market!

Not heard of this night market before, as you mentioned, its only known to locals, I don't see it in any travel guidebook. The nearest subway station seems to be "Taling Chan junction". Or take Bus 79 from downtown Bangkok.

HI Opal and Plow. I laughed when Plow dropped the sweet potato and you blew on it because it was so hot. Absolutely love grilled salmon. You seemed so excited about eating this salmon. Jelly fish can sting you really bad in the water and can hurt / sting. Both of your eyes sparkled when taking a 1ST bite. Pork in the bowl at the Japanese restaurant looked yummy. I would have had 2 beers. Snapped your fingers at 70%% full ands lots of room left. Excellent. Absolutely love ice cream. This market has everything. Absolutely Loved Every Minute

In Thailand There are 3 species of jellyfish that are edible: the scented jellyfish (Mastigiad sp.), the leather jellyfish (Rhopilema hispidum), and the channel jellyfish (Lobonema smithii). The consumption of jellyfish in our country Will use leather jellyfish. With jellyfish passing through the channels, there is a lot of damage. It is popularly pickled with astringent juice, which is a local food in the eastern region. Or bring it to dry and use with various foods, such as using it in Yen Ta Fo. Or pickled and salted in a semi-dry form for sale abroad in Asia where jellyfish are also popular, such as China, Japan, and Korea. Jellyfish are commonly consumed by many Asian cultures, especially the Chinese, where they have been consumed for thousands of years. But fresh jellyfish are easily perishable at room temperature and must therefore be processed. which is cooked in many ways But the most common method of processing is semi-dry pickling. Or pickling them in salt water for about 20 days or more and then drying them. The Japanese have their own way of preserving jellyfish. It is fermented in salt alternating with layers of jellyfish flesh, giving a brine concentration in the range of 7.5 - 25 percent, and alum is added to the mix at a proportion of 1 - 2.5 percent. Fermented for 2 - 5 weeks, then pressed to dry. 4 - 6 days later, reduce the saltiness by soaking in water for 1 - 2 days, then prepare to cook by adding vinegar. Served in small bowls as an appetizer.
