Most likely he got vaccinated and while I do not want to start any form of argument about that, vaccines do not make covid less harmful the way I see around me with people. I see people with natural immunity do same level training and many others vaccinated with less gym time and /or serious strength loss. I socialize a lot and after the first time I got sick over 2 years ago, I never got sick again.

Been watching your videos forever and decided to leave a comment due to you asking for others on the program to share results. I have been training for 12+ years and never understood how to get beyond a 225 bench. I tried 5x5, Candito, nsuns templates and never progressed. I stumbled across your videos a few years back and more recently found your actual program on Gravitus. Started running it 1.5 years ago and have gone from 225 to 285. While this has been awesome, the best change has been my mindset and belief in knowing that 315 or even 405 is now possible. It’s just a matter of time and consistency. So thank you!

I found out about you several months ago, and I have to say; you are a gifted bench presser. You are able to bench press so much weight without doing a lot of accessory work such as tempo bench, flys, incline/decline bench, close grip bench, dumbbell bench, or any shoulder workouts. Imagine how far you could go if you did those accessories. You are crazy strong.

Years ago I commented on one of your videos asking for advice to improve my bench because I had plateaued. Took your advice and revamped my entire workout regime. Now I do upper body day/ lower body day and cardio day. It is entirely centered around the bench for upper, the squat for lower and then distance/sprint running for cardio. I do 10-12 sets for each bench/squat day , any other exercise is only done if I have time. All that to say I’m finally repping 315lbs on both the bench and squat, plateaus shattered thanks to taking your advice and prioritizing the important strength movements rather than these accessory exercises.

I think part if it is you're just psyching yourself out and over-thinking it, which is something I've noticed that you tend to do. I’m a newbie lifter of 6 months who caught Covid twice in the last month. For me, my squats took a big hit but my bench improved. I went from doing 225lbs for 5 to struggling with 185 and huge hip shift/imbalances and pain. This was shortly after I made a decent recovery and possible because I went from standing at work for 8 hours, playing basketball for a few hours, and lifting every day to lying down 24/7. I did have pretty bad back aches during Covid and my sinuses took a long time to fully clear out. I’d say my nervous system didn’t make a fully recovery until about a week after I started up lifting again. As for the bench I think the time off let my sternum cartilage strain and wrist sprain to heal up some more which is probably why my bench improved after not lifting for a while but still it could be Covid related.

Happy birthday! 🎂 I'd say for minor wrist injuries or pain, you should get a pair of wrist wraps. They do provide alot of support and keep warmth in the joint. I had a wrist injury from front squats and it put me off of squats for 3 weeks. now i use them on bench as well and i havent had any wrist problems since.

My bench is way down since pre covid. I was at my all-time levels bench-wise. After years of eating and training religiously, I finally benched 300 for 1 rep @ 185. New confidence and new levels. THEN... covid comes in and forces me to stop training; as I did 5 days a week at my gym. For weeks I just had to stop cold turkey and I was mentally and physically distressed. I started feeling like I had covid but it was workout withdrawal. Closing the gyms down was a terrible decision and really screwed me up. I eventually bought a rack and barbell equipment and was able to start training again, but minus a huge gym and replace that environment with a small bedroom; where I was hesitant to lift too heavy because the equipment didn't feel as safe as the gyms. Anyway been back at my gym since spring and u have noticed a huge drop in the bench press and also bad muscle memory in terms of lift-off on flat and incline bench. I've been trying but it's going to take some time. My advice is to start light and work back up because injuries are bound after time off

After 2 years of not being vaccinated I finally caught covid. I only recently started working out again 4 months 5-6 x a week and had made incredible gains in all 3 of my compound movements as I have previous lifting experience and good eating habits. After getting covid I was extremely sick for 3 days (chills vomiting headache fever and pain in limbs) followed by headaches one day or chills the next for a total of 10 days. On my 10 day I was feeling good again and was more than eager and motivated to continue my workout journey so I headed to the gym. Energy levels we’re low and strength was 70% what I was use to.. Of course with the psychological effects and loss of fluids and a little bit of muscle I became depressed and did my research and watch KZbin videos to keep my spirits high. So on, this is my first week being back in the gym as of 31st of December and the first side effect I have noticed is I excruciating joint pain in my elbows, wrist joints in my knees. I don’t know if these are long term covid effects or permanent but just wanted to share. I am feeling a little bumped out and hopefully it’s all gone and back to normal soon. Hope you had a good day reading this!

Hey! Yes, after I had COVID I had several months of absolute exhaustion and a pretty severe brain-fog where I'd mess up simple tasks. I would also note that my ability to focus and motivate has decreased severely but that may be unrelated. Shortness of breath and rapid fatigue were very common symptoms for 2-3 months afterwards. The fatigue lasted longer. This was with the delta variant, my second infection with the Omnicron variant was last month and I have much less severe effects. Perhaps more fatigue.
